My dad dressed up like a gladiator last year. It was funny. He wore biking shorts underneath :)

that would probably work! yesssss. now i dont have to stress lol. ok, i have another idea too...what if i were tinkerbell or wendy, and alfredo was peter pan? i found a peter pan costume that wasnt so....lets just say he wont have to wear tights  what do you think? and isaiah would probably just be mike wazowski again;)

HAHA. Thats up to him if he's willing to dress up like im

Do you have any Indian stores around you? In our mall we have a cart that is full of Indian stuff, jewelry, they do threading there, henna (but I do my own) and they have outfits too....they have one that is so nice, we were thinking about getting it for me and I could be Jasmine, DBF could be Aladdin and the kids could be the Genie and the carpet! lol

Well, what I would do for the carpet really is just make it myself from either fabric or actual rugs. Use a dowel rod across the shoulders to make it stand out or just figure out how to put her arms thru so she can control the movements. I haven't worked it all out yet...we actually haven't decided to do it either.....DBF thinks I'm weird because I like to do group costumes. LOL

hahaha that would be adorable and very original if you decide to do it;) and i think group costumes are fun! im trying to do a group costume, but its hard to find costumes for everyone. its really stressing me out:laughing:

ok, so i may still be able to jasmine....i found something....

a red harem girls outfit. basically, it KINDA looks like the princess jasmine outfit, but its red. so i was thinking of being jasmine when shes in her red outfit, at the end of aladdin, when she has her hair up and stuff.

do you think people will have noooo idea who i am?? my husband will be aladdin, so maybe that would help:confused: what do you all think?

Wow this is so interesting to me, cuz I just made all kinds of costumes for my DD's play last May. I made Jasmine's, the Genie's, Harem girls, everything, and I made the Magic Carpet for my DD. I was a sewing fool! If I have time, I will try to post some pics for you, to show you what I did for the Carpet. I'm not real savvy when it comes to posting pictures so bear with me.

But I can tell you what I used for it.

First of all, I found a picture of the Magic Carpet from the play at DCA. I used that for reference on the placement of the head, hands and feet.

Next I used stretchy velvet panne fabric. I bought enough to cover my DD on the front and back with her hands stretched high above her head. I then had her lay on the fabric, and I placed her head where it needed to stick out. I marked that with chalk. I cut a slit to start with. :scared1: Then I had to mark her hands and feet. I sewed gloves and socks onto the marks.

You know, this is going to take some explaining to do. It was a very hard project to do, and I sew alot. If you are still interested, you can PM me. I don't want to bore everyone.

Sorry about that. :rolleyes1

To the OP. Find someone to sew Jasmine's costume for you. The one I made turned out beautiful if I do say so myself. Cut out the coupons from Joann's to get 40% whenever you can on the fabic and trim. At DL, in Adventureland, they had the perfect headband too. Maybe someone can check it out, to see if they still sell it. There might be a cheesy picture of Jasmine on it, but just replace it with a cheap rhinestone.

Good luck to all.

I am sooo interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be so neat!!! I'll PM you now with my email address! :)

Oh, I'm such a dork!!! I also wanted to say that YES, I would totally recognize you as Jasmine in her costume! I love that outfit! :)

The red costume idea sounds beautiful, and I am sure that anyone that has seen the movie will recognize you as being her. I say go for it, and red is my most favorite color too, so o.k. I am a bit biased about the color. :)
