I'm running the WDW Marathon Jan 2012! Who is with me??

Minnie Lor - I was thinking about how to handle hydration on longer runs... I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it (and right now, it's pretty far off in the distance... a couple of months, at least).

BUT I have to carry my epi-pen at all times, and when I run outside, I run by myself, so I carry my phone house key, and emergency contact card (who I am, who to call, what I'm allergic to, what meds I take) So I have this pack: http://www.amphipod.com/products/holders/day-of-race/airflow-microstretch-belt

it'll even fit my camera, which I'm sure I'll want to have on me when I do a real race!

Looks good. I looked at everything online and in the store and decided on the one I got because of the regular size bottle and convenient location. I'm going to start "fueling" possibly today for my short run but definitely for my 9 miles on Friday.

I've never done "fueling" but now that I'm running along with walking I need something. For the most part, I don't eat alot of sugar or simple carb's so finding something has been a challenge. Then i heard an old episode of The Extra Mile Podcast and they talked extensively about Hammer Nutrition. So I'm giving that a try.

there's a blog I read (skinnyrunner.com) and she talks alot about fueling. I'm not to that point yet, but I hope to be in a couple of months! :-)

Thanks! I'll look at that website tonight.:thumbsup2

I need help from my fellow DISers I ran a 10k this weekend and I let the mental game get me. I was running the first 2 miles at a great pace, faster than usual, but feeling good. For reason I felt like I was tired when I wasn't and let myself start walking some and then I couldn't find my pace again...I dont know if there are any tricks for working against this issue?!?

Well folks..
I had my surgery on April 1st (and no, it is not a joke, lol)
I am recovering well, but can't stand being in a boot, so I have actually gotten out a few days and walked about a mile or so here and there. That dang thing is heavy, weighs about 2 lbs (I weighed it).
Yesterday, I did it!! I went to the rundisney web site, looked around for a few minutes, clicked on the Register for the 2012 Full Marathon, filled in all the information, and then sat there for a few more moments and finally hit that SUBMIT button.:scared1::eek:
So, it's a go!! I got clearance from my Doc, that I should be able to be ready to go when the serious training starts. (I do have the relay for W&D and a Half Marathon in Nov, so I will be training for these things as well)
I am 1 week and 2 days out of surgery and think I am healing pretty well, but really getting sick of the boot thing.
I am glad I have finished the surgery to overhaul my toe joint(I now have a pin) and I did the next step to actually register for the FULL.
I hope you all are getting excited, and who else needs a push to hit that submit button?

Tracy

I am glad to hear you are healing well...you will be out there running soon and probably passing right by me at the marathon :goodvibes

Thanks Shannon, but my goal is just to get back to where I was before surgery and finish the darn thing. lol!!!

Hi All! A couple of friends and I are planning to run the 2012 Princess Half. We were wondering if there were sweepers in every coral or just in the last coral?
Thanks in advance!

The time for the sweepers starts once the last people cross the start line. If you start in an earlier coral you theoretically have longer than 16 min/mile to finish the race.
