I'm really sorry...

We won't be recording this week. I was feeling better yesterday and we planned to record today. Woke up this morning with coughing fits - which is apparently what happened to 'Typhoid Maxy' (that's why he wasn't at the show last week). I have no idea why I'm getting so sick so often this year - and it absolutely sucks. I NEVER get sick like this, and now this is the third time since January! Again, I'm sorry about not putting a show up this week, but I can't afford to get the rest of the team sick.

Thx
Pete

No need to be sorry Pete. Take care of yourself and your voice. Have some chicken soup and lots of water.

Lots of love

That happened to me a few years ago. I would get sick every few months, they finally decided to take my tonsils out, and *knock wood* I haven't been sick for about 3 years now!

Get all of the sickness out before December!

I am thinking of having my tonsils out - when I get sick I get horrendous sore throats and you can see my tonsils are inflamed.

Was it bad having this done as an adult?

Whatever Pete has, moved in to his chest this morning. As disappointing as it is to our listeners, it is a very agonizing decision to cancel the show. Everyone at the postcast works very hard all week and it would be a great hardship if the core team of the company and their families became ill. There are elderly mothers, babies and children we must consider.
Doing the show is a nice break from our usual jobs and we enjoy doing them very much. We would love to produce a show every week but sometimes due to illness and unforeseen events we cannot.
Thanks for your support and understanding - Walter:sick:

Same thing was happening to me!

I don't want to scare you, but, it was really bad for me. The Dr. called me the "worst case scenario". I couldn't talk for 3 weeks afterwards, seriously. My husband liked it, though

The Dr. told me that as an adult, it's not a good thing for the heart and body to have recurrent strept/sore throat.

Looking back, it was the best thing I did, but getting through it was no picnic.

Feel better, Pete! Maybe you need a nice SPA getaway vacation.

I thought I needed my tonsils removed as well, but when I went to the ENT several years ago, he told me that they are better left in, unless I got sick more than three times a year, which I don't.

OK - don't tell Kevin about the not talking part......he would drive me there tomorrow....

Kathy and Teresa...is Walter talking about you? I sure hope he means Petes and Kevins Mom. Remember, Walter is now eligible for AARP! Oh yea...so am I!

That's actually what my GP said - I don't get sick that often but when I do it's always a really bad sore throat - never strep - guess I will leave them in for now.

Plus I'm always worried to have anything done to my throat - it might ruin my beautiful singing voice :rotfl2:

I've got to comment here...

Every time that we don't have a podcast for the week due to illness, the podcast team has to bend over backwards with apologies. It's just not right!

Poor Pete, and now Walter, appear that they feel they have to justify not having a podcast. A key member of the team is really sick. They don't want to get everyone else sick. It's as simple as that!

I personally detest those people that come into work when they are sick - all they do is make the rest of the company sick. I appreciate that the members of this team are smart enough to not spread illnesses around.

Pete, Walter - thanks for the 'heads up' on not getting a show. I appreciate that type of communication - but no apologies are necessary. Mature people 'get' it, and the rest of those that don't understand will be able to go on with their lives.

I, like many others, really look forward to the shows each week, and it is a disappointment when I don't get to hear them. That being said, I'd rather have a bunch of healthy podcasters doing their job and not have a single week's worth of shows. You have the most entertaining podcast out there, and I (selfishly) want the team to be around for years so that I can continue to enjoy it!

*Off my soap box now*

Pete - feel better quick! You need to be on the top of your game for your upcoming trip!

Jon

It's all about you John.......... Don't ever forget that! :yay:

While we all love the shows, we just want you to get better as soon as you can.:goodvibes
As Commando2319 said, it just gives us an excuse to listen to old shows. In fact, I just finished listening to the very first call-in show where you gave away 11 prizes from the prize-ma-tron(sp?).
Does thinking about that day still give John high blood pressure? :faint:
