Before finding these message boards, I would not have blinked at the idea of going to Disney in June. Heck, my first trip (pre- disboards, before I knew what i was doing ;) ) was at the end of June and I loved it.

At the advice of everyone here, DH and I went in September and it was awesome. Value season prices, low crowds, good weather.

But now I am becoming a school teacher and really can't take off a week in September to go to Disney. Here, our school year runs from Mid-August to last week of May. I would like to take a trip in 2004, but I am pretty much "stuck" with summer trips. And I am worried about June being a big letdown after a September trip :(

Someone please tell me I am overreacting. Has anyone gone in June and enjoyed it??

We did fall visits until three years ago when DS got too old to take out of school for extended times. We did the beginning of June and I was very nervous about the crowds. I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly not like the fall, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Fast Pass makes a big difference for the lines. I have a harder time with the heat and humidity ( I live in a DRY state) in June compared to the weather in the fall.

You are overreacting. I have not been in WDW in June, but I have been there the Easter week and Christmas through Newyear which are two of the most crowded time. We also have been going in Nov for the past three years. The park hours are longer when you are going compare to Sep. The weather was pretty hot when we were there last May, So we did head out first thing in the morning and took a break after lunch hanging out by the pool for few hours and then went back. By now you know where you are going and you can pretty much plan ahead of time. Use your fastpass and enjoy yourself.

We did May..June..Sept and Twice in mid-Dec and then this past trip April. Well...I must say. June was HOT...but not as HOT and HUMID not like in early Sept (darn love-bugs!!). It was crowded...but it was doable. We went in June when they didn't have a fast-pass then and I don't think they had those EE way back then.

I would suggest to do EE when possible...and definitely take advantage of the FP. And take the mid-day break to boost back the energy taken by the heat/humidity...waiting in line...fighting the crowds.

We are going again this June (our second time around doing June)
My kids are in private school...I would hate for them to miss school because I want my money's worth. I want them there to learn...I know they are only in Kinder (will be in 1st grade in Sept) and P-K. So this is the reason why I took them during the busy season...Easter. I think I am also stuck with June, July, Aug and Easter vacation and Christmas vacation. I guess as long as I make it to see Mickey...I am happy!! :)

I still think a hot and crowded day at WDW is better than any day I could have at home :)

Just be sure to drinks lots of water and listen to your body when it needs a rest.

Go immediately when school is out -- the beginning of June is really not that bad. We've been three of the past four years and will be there May 31-June 8 this year. Crowds are not bad at all, and we deal with the heat by staying out of the parks, for the most part, in the middle of the day. We go to the parks early, take a p.m. break, then go back in the evening. We try to use sit-down meals and indoor attractions as breaks. We also carry and drink lots of water.

I AM A TEACHER AND COACH (MY WIFE TEACHES ALSO) SO WE ARE STUCK WITH JUNE TRIPS TOO. WE HAVE BEEN EARLY, MID, AND LATE JUNE. WE PREFER EARLY. WE THINK THE CROWDS ARE A LITTLE SMALLER. THE HOURS ARE LONGER THOUGH. MOST PARKS OPEN UNTIL 9:00PM. THE AFTERNOON BREAKS ARE GREAT BUT WE OFTEN SKIP THEM AS WE ( MAINLY ME!) ARE PARK COMMANDOS. ONE WARNING ABOUT EARLY JUNE IS USUALLY THE FIRST WEEKEND OF JUNE IS GAY DAYS. IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THIS YOU CAN GO TO GAYDAYS.COM AND SEE THE CALENDAR OF EVENTS. JUNE IS HOT BUT NOT OVERBEARING IF YOU TAKE THE NORMAL ADVICE OF WATER, REST AND SHADE WHEN AVAILABLE (ICE STATION COOL IN EPCOT!). IF YOU NEED MORE INFO ON A JUNE TRIP JUST LET ME KNOW HERE OR WITH A PM.

My wife is a teacher to...we have been going at the end of June and first of July for years...it can be crowded around the 4th, but we are used to it....I love it hot...lol

Enjoy...go early...take breaks...don't try to do it all in one day..

We will be there June 27 thru July 4 at WL...

You are overreacting. We always go in June and always have a wonderfull time. The heat doesn't bother us maybe because we're used to it. I like that the parks stay open later in the Summer (at least they used to). Some of my favorite WDW moments have been being at the MK late at night.

My extended family is going 5/31/ - 6/5; we're DVC members and staying at the WL; also hoping heat won't be too opressive; we were also thinking we might just beat the summer rush.

What is it with all of these NC folks in June.....

The votes are tallied, and you are, in fact, over-reacting.

I go the second week of June every year on business, and usually take my wife in September or October. While the crowds in September are just a dream, early June isn't bad. Much better than July and early August, even late June. The heat is on par with early September. The crowd increase seems to me to take a little more prep -- we do touring plans in June, whereas we wing it in September -- but I always like to call early June "doable."

Use fast pass. Get there early and hit the E-tickets eary, or do them during dinner. And accept that you'll either miss a ride or two, or you'll wait in a half hour line. But half hour is the worst wait I've had for something I thought was important, and I've been told by July regulars that I'm jaded.

So relax. Plan, but relax. June is a great time.

Please don't be nervous. My family has made many trips during the first couple of weeks of June. Last year, we very rarely waited in a line for more than thirty minutes. We used fastpass, and were at the parks before opening to utilize the early morning hours. Yes, it does get hot in the afternoons, and the humidity gets somewhat steamy. Use the afternoons to either rest in your room, late lunch, go to the airconditioned shows, or ride a water ride. I am a very hot natured person, and I still do fine! Drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. There are showers, mostly in the afternoon, and usually very brief. We put our rain ponchos on, and kept going. The parks are also opened later during this time of year with more times to view shows, parades, etc. We have had a wonderrful experience every year we have been to Disney.
We are arriving for another trip June 3-13. If it was not a good time, we would go somewhere else. Have a great time whenever you decide to go.

Carol, I was thinking the same thing myself :)

I've been in June several times. While I admit the last time I went was unseasonably hot (we hit 100 one day) it was still enjoyable. Just take your time, use the late closing times to your advantage as well as EE, fast pass and park hopping. Take breaks as often as you need and honestly the mister fans were a HUGE help to us! I've also been told that June's weather on average is much more pleasant than September's. Don't worry, you'll have a great time!!

Go as soon as school is out. It will be less crowded the 1st 2 weeks of June, as much of the country's schools still are in school until June 13th.

It shouldn't be any hotter than it is in September, and the hours for the parks should be longer.

Don't worry about it, you will have a great time.:)
