Call your guide today. Tell him you want to buy on friday. He can write up all the paperwork ahead of time and have another DVC member help you sign it all. (We did that with our guide out here in CA when we were going to be at DLR on her day off). Hopefully they will be accomidating unless they cannot write anything up until friday.

I guess I don't understand why you want to be a "founding member"? What do you get for being that "founding member?

Why the rush, they aren't going to run out of points for the next 3 years or so. I'd wait and see. I'm not going to rush right in and buy. Why pay now for a resort that will only have a small section done in the fall?

I'll let the money stay in the market for a while before I buy.

lol.....There is a lot of points to be sold! I guessing 3 to 5 years until sell-out. Its a big resort and is going to complete against other resorts for buyers.

I don't know how to say this nicely so I won't even try. Not even close.

AKV is going to be a large resort. Not SSR large but large. SSR has been selling for 5+ years at this point and I'd venture a guess that it will be selling for 1 more. Call it 6 years total, probably more however. It isn't twice as big as AKV will be.

Even if AKV was only half the size of SSR we are talking 3 years at the minimum to sell.

Where are you getting this one year sell out time? This has never happened, I don't believe. Even VWL took longer than that, I think???????

Immediately those of us who are Disney Nuts, AKL Nuts and/or DVC nuts will drive the great majority of sales.

Then I expect sales to fall way off, below SSR's rate.

Why? AK and AKL are WDW great secret. Far off the beaten track, so those who don't already know about it are harder to reach (easily).

This is just my personal, pure and idle speculation. The truth we will know in 6 months or so.

I'm only buying for the Tapestry and to rent out prime time ressies, personally. <===== Despite my disclaimer, the rental crack is/was meant as a joke.

Ummmm...you haven't been following on the size, have you. Nearly as large as SSR (about 2/3rds the size). Remember, SSR has been selling at a record pace (faster rate than BCV and BWV), but still taking over 5 years to sell out.

AKL a great secret? I always see it on the "Top 10 Best Family Hotel" List. DH would like to try it out but has Dumboitis(location,location,location) doesn't want to spend a chunk of time on a WDW bus.

Personally I plan on trying all the DVC's. (2 down by May).

again public sales started on May, 2004 - when the building opened.

May, 2005 - first year
May, 2006 - second year
May, 2007 third year (and it is not here yet)

if they do sell out in dec - that will 3 1/2 years. Disney members only got a couple of months pre sell.

AK is the great undiscoverd secret. I just read a post yesterday on the Theme Park board. Family RACED through AK like the lion was chasing them. (Literally did the trail with the tigers and did not stop for a second LOL!) IF you attack AK like that you tend to find it lacking. You have to stop and smell the roses there, but if you do.... I have NEVER left that place without a smile on my face.
