Staying at the Poly / MK view.

I'm gonna request a fruit basket and a bottle of champaigne & chocolate covered strawberries be placed in the room for our arrival.

What other romantic things can you suggest?

Cost is not really an issue but advice on getting Disney to sprinkle some pixie dust on us would be cool too.

Thanks!

Firt of all...AWWWWWWWwwwwww!!! That is so sweet!

Now I don't have a great piece of advice on your pixiedust: except get a couple of shirts made that say "Just engaged" or something to show everyone your celebrating your love! They may offer up a free dessert or two!

Congratulations!

I second the t-shirt idea!

Have fun :wizard:

Congratulations on your decision to get married!

Not to rain on your parade but thought I would offer this insight-- does your beloved know that you intend to propose? something the two of you have already talked about?

Call me an emotional sap but when my husband proposed, I was soooo emotional. Happy/crying/excited. Couldn't wait to share my news with friends and family. The last thing I would want to do is have to board a plane with a bunch of strangers and try to act composed.

But maybe that's just me.

Romantic Ideas:
To elaborate on the "just engaged" idea you could have the shirt printed on disney.com and include her favorite characters (and possibly the date) because it would make a nice keepsake.

Actually anything "engravable" is a nice keepsake. They will do this with mugs and frames just to name a few items at Arribas Brothers crystal shops.

Just walking hand and hand along the beach at the Poly is going to be very romantic.

If "money is no object" it is very nice to rent a private boat to see "Wishes" or "Illuminations"

If you want Disney to "sprinkle the dust" they have to know you are celebrating. When you make your dining reservations, mention your engagement, mention it again when you check in at the podium. Mention it when you check in at the resort. None of this guarantees anything but might make it more likely they will accomodate you.

Having a meal in the castle is always nice. I agree with the shirts so that the cms know you just got engaged and then can offer extra :wizard: .

NICE!!! :thumbsup2 Congratulations. I did the same thing as you with having things in the room when we got back to the room (although we were not at Disney but in Hawaii). Long story short what ever you do she will appretiate it.

Good luck! I proposed in front of the wishing well after Wishes fireworks at the MK. We both threw a penny in the fountain and made a wish, then I asked her. Friday is our first time there as a married couple. :)

Ahhhhh. That is really sweet. :)

Congratulations! I am sure your intended will appreciate your romantic side. There are no guarantees of extra pixie dust, but if they don't know then there is zero chance. I agree with the others that Disney needs to know. I would think you'd be able to get buttons from guest services. I am not sure but I think they say something like "magical event or magical happening". I could be wrong, but I think that the pin they give covers anniversarys and honeymoons so I think it is generic enough to cover an engagement, too. The shirts are a great idea, but you can't wear the same shirt the whole trip. And mention it when booking all meals and when you get there. Just take the person aside and say, we just got engaged and anything you can do to make this meal/event special would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy your trip!

Look into the Wishes Cruise. I'm not sure if you could do that or not or if you have to have a certain number of people.

Maybe make reservations for a World Showcase restaurant where you can both watch Illuminations?

Someone proposed to his girlfriend the last night we were there during Wishes. If you get the right spot, this can be terribly magical. Just a thought. :thumbsup2

Well of course, since you're proposing right before take-off you'll have to mention something about being in the clouds...

What you really need is a tee-shirt that says: "I went to Disney
World and all I got was this Fiance" for her to wear when you get home!!!

I can't really post any other ideas...all the ones I've seen are great.
Just wanted to say that if she says no, I'll marry ya! Oh, wait...I'm already married!
:rotfl: Sorry, it just sounds like you guys are going to really have a great time! Wishing you 2 the best of luck and I'm sure it'll all work out for you :thumbsup2

How about having a set of bride and groom Mouse ears waiting in your room with the strawberries and champagne?

DH and I wore ours during our WDW honeymoon, and we got SO much special attention! :)

Check out www.disneyflorist.com for their selection of fruit baskets and other baskets. You'll have to call Polynesian Private Dining to set up the strawberries. They have a few packages - one I remember is the romance package and they have a turndown package. I know both include some kind of sweets, but I don't recall if champagne is included. It can be added, however.

Congrats!

If you have the time and can locate this pride and groom pin of M&M, this would be a nice added touch and keepsake for your special day. The pin was released June 24,2001

Good Luck ~ Hope everything goes according to plan.

Congratulations! And welcome to the DIS :welcome: Have you considered a nice couple's massage at the Grand Floridian? DW and I haven't done that before, but its on our wish list of romantic things to do at WDW. Some nice person may come along soon and provide a link for more info ;) .

One more thing... we all like pictures! Don't be bashful about posting some pix from your vacation to tell us how it all goes.

Wishing you all the best, but I need to ask: Why before the plane takes off and not after you get to MK? Airports are not romantic and MK proposal would make many great memories.

And it sure would be a looooong flight if ....well....nevermind! ;)

Good luck, enjoy the moment stay happy! :cheer2:

Awwwwwwwwwwww!!! How romantic! :lovestruc :lovestruc

I also have to agree that the airport isn't very romantic, whereas during the Wishes fireworks in front of the Magic Kingdom all lit up would be really special. Maybe you could even somehow tell one of the photopass people about your plans and they might be able to capture the magical moment for you!

Whatever you decide to do...good luck to you!
