I'm pretty sure this is a repeat complaint...

Have either of you tried Walmart? I've had pretty good luck finding both jeans and black pants for my boys. (My oldest needs the black pants for work). Right now they are in 34x32 and 36x32. But I know I have seen smaller waists/longer length before in both the jeans and black pants. You never know what you can find in that store. :thumbsup2

I can't help you finding the pants, but have you considered getting some black dye from walmart and dyeing the old faded pants just in case the ones you ordered don't make it on time? I used to do it all the time when older DDs were home because they worked in a restaurant and had to keep the pants looking spiffy.

I actually did consider that. I've never dyed anything before, and we have a brand new washer- I'm a little afraid to "go there"....

I went to Kohl's, Bon Ton, and Penneys, and they had nothing. Tried Macy's on-line, Penneys on-line and Kohl's on-line and didn't come up with what I wanted in his size (slim fit, flat front). Plenty of pleated (YUCK) pants out there, but nothing "updated". He is so skinny that a regular cut looks really baggy on him, so he needs the slim fit. AE weren't as tailored as he wants (he already has a pair- they are brushed khakis, not a nice crisp khaki). I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a western store in PA....don't think that would be an option. I didn't even think of Walmart- maybe I should take a look there today.

It must be a conspiracy on ME- because I am also looking for black pants for my DS13 for jazz band, and couldn't find a 12H or a 14 (not sure what size he is...he is in that phase of growing wider before a growth spurt) in any of the stores I looked in. Thankfully, we have some time for him, so I can order something on-line if I have to.

Is there an Aeropostale store near you? They have a flat front pant that is suposedly approved for school uniforms (so it's a nice pair of pants). Unfortunately, online they only have 30x32 in black right now (navy or "tundra" (light tan) they do have in 30x34 - figures) but they may have 30x34 in store. If there is a store near you, give them a call. The one in the Lehigh Valley Mall always has LOTS of the smaller waist sizes.

I posted about this problem last week. We went to The Men's Warehouse where their waists start at 28 and they can do just about anything with the length. They measured my son at a 25" waist and a 34" length. The tailor did her magic and they look great. This is the first time my son has ever owned a pair of pants that fit him perfectly!

This is good to know and where I'll be going to buy DSs their suits for my brother's wedding. :thumbsup2

Abercrombie and H&M both have 30x34 jeans. And Abercrombie is having a really good sale right now.

I'm in the same boat!! I finally told DS he had just better start wearing belts because unless he gains some weight (or quits getting taller!!!), this will always be an issue.

Frankly....if they made a boy's size 16 slim waist with the longer leg length would be great. A 29 waist is still too big for him but he needs a 32 length at least (may even be 34). We did find some at Kohl's but of course, even the smallest waist was way too big. I was going to go look at the tag but he is wearing them. I have a 29 x 29 here but I know those are too short because I remember being shocked when he has the same length as his dad & even those looked like they might be on the smidge short side! Dude just keeps on growing taller & he isn't done yet.

I can sew but not real great when it comes to jeans but it is almost to the point of feeling like "maybe I should just make you your jeans because obviously nobody else in the world is tall & skinny" since nobody seems to make a jeans in those sizes. It makes me wonder where all the tall skinny adult men I know shop. I don't know if a Big & Tall shop would have the smaller waist sizes though.

Awesome! I'm definitely going to see if we have one closeby. A 28 waist would probably be perfect for DS -- heck they may even need to take that in. :rotfl2: I don't think he is even 100 pounds yet and he's 15!

SWEET!! I just found one down the road. I wouldn't have even thought of there because of the name -- I wouldn't have thought they had the teen type of fit. By the way...the one on my advertised tux rentals for $65. LOL! I just saw up thread someone needed one for band.

My son is 30x34 also.

American Eagle carries jeans so he's happy. My best finds are at thrift stores. I actually find more 30x34 in the thrift stores than the mall. I check there first now.

That is where I get his jeans. I never have a problem with jeans. It is the decent looking dress pants (but not too dressy- not suit pants) that are hard to find. The AE ones are not quite dressy enough.

For jeans, we had really good luck this year at Hot Topic. My son is definitely not a Hot Topic type of kid but they have a large selection of jeans in all different styles including some normal blue ones (check out their website). In the store, they mainly carry just the 30" or 32" inseam but they can order anything and if you have it shipped to the store, it is just .99 cents. I was able to order multiple 28" x 34" blue jeans in a slim fit. If DS wears a belt, they fit good enough (he really needs a 26" waist) and he says they are very comfortable.

My oldest wore 29x34 when he was in HS and college and it drove me absolutely inisane trying to find him pants other than jeans. A lot of manufacturers don't even make that size. He's now 28 and wears 32x34 which he has no trouble finding. He's 6'1".

But, I always said what you did, I know my DS wasn't the only tall skinny boy LOL.

Youngest DS wore 28x32 which were hard to find sometimes, but now at 26, he wears 30x32, much easier to find. He's 5'7" though so his legs are long.

Reading this thread makes me glad that I have man-sized kids. My 15 year old is 6'4" 235 and wears a 36x34 and my 13 year old is 5'9" 150 and wears 32x32. Easy to find anywhere.

American Eagle for jeans We find one size in the store, if it fits, we order 5 more online.

DH wears a 30x32 and DS16 wears a 29x32. It sucks!!

For dress pants we get Arrow brand at Kohls. they usually have 1 or 2 pair of 30x32's.
