I'm Pregnant Again....

"I was MORE afraid the 2nd time around too. My 1st ds was not a good baby...I just kept saying that God couldn't give 2 like that!"

Ha!! Wanna bet Pembo? LOL!!

Just some experience from one who does have them close together. My kids are 11.5 months apart. Did we plan it that way? Not exactly. Was I freaked when I foudn out? A little.

I have a boy and a girl and it actually is turning out fine. They are 6 right now together because my son's 7th birthday isn't until December 5th. That first year was a little hectic...moved from changing to feeding to napping one or the other. But truthfully, I didn't find it that bad. I was and am a stay at home mom, so that probably helps. But I am also a queen at time management and organization and I know not everyone is.

My kids fight over stuff, just like all sibs, but they don't fight like cats and dogs. And actually, I have heard so many people comment on their ages positively. Mostly someone who has a sib 10 or 11 months apart and how they were so close growing up and still are. I am not saying my kids will be perfect, but they are very close and protective of each other.

Just one mom saying that if it happens, it can be done and everyone survives.

Becka, I dont have PMS, nor was I attacking you personally.

In fact I said " I DONT KNOW if this applies to anyone HERE..."

Most unplanned pregnancies happen because people dont take precautions. Its the truth. They outnumber the amount of unplanned pregnancies that are due to birth control failure. In addition, I think that the number of "accidents" due to birth control failure is greatly exaggerated. I think a lot of people who have claimed to use a method and have an "accident" are in reality just not being careful, but dont want to admit to that.

And since you asked, no, I've never been "late" or worried.

That doesn't surprise me, GG.

Becka, if you didn't want to be pregnant again, then I am happy for you.

Well GG since the very first line of your reply to this thread was
Is birth control really that hard to use??
and this statement had NO disclaimer it was pretty easy to see the implication that you felt I was a "breeder" who lacks the self control or knowledge to use birth control properly.

I actually thought you might post a big Congratulations for once on a pregnancy thread. I thought you would be thrilled that there was not going to be another child being brought into this world.

Since you have never been "late" then I guess it is time to educate you that it is natural for a woman who is late to wonder if she is pregnant even if she is using some type or multiple types of birth control.

Don't worry Becka. If it happens know that it happens to the best of us (see countdown below). :)

Actually I really honestly think that GG is right. If I somehow found myself pregnant 9 years after my youngest son was born ;) -- it must have been because I wanted it to happen. If however I was in a position where I couldn't afford another child or didn't think I would be able to love another baby, my tubes would have been tied years ago. :)

btw - you fooled me too. I read the title and though "Oh is she going to have her hands full!!!!!!"

Well I'd like console you but I did it twice. I have a boy that is 12 and a half, a girl that is 11, (15 months and 2 weeks apart) then I had another boy that just made 8 and a girl that is 6 (15 months and 3and a half weeks apart). We really tried to be careful. We did use BC but it didn't work 4 times. I am glad that I have them. But it is really tough sometimes especially when I feel like I am going in 4 directions.

I guess I don't understand why someone who obviously has no desire to have children always finds it necessary to post on 'baby' threads...I'm sorry.. but the topic here was basically from and about people who enjoy babies... yes, anyone can post anywhere.. but WHY???....... I guess some are just happier hurting others..... whatever

Now back to the original post....

Becka-- I do know what you mean... I was more worried with each of my pregnancies and I was a basket case during most of my 5th pregnancy since I had miscarried during my 4th one....

I am happy to say that we have 4 healthy children.

I also have 2 angels in Heaven ( my 3rd was a twin and we lost one of those babies also)

After my daughter was born ( our last child) I did think I might be pregnant when she was about 1 1/2.. ( and YES just in case GG is taking notes, I was on birthcontrol, but was VERY late anyway) I was really freaking out-- I don't think I could handle more than 4, but DH was sooooo sweet and made me feel that it would be alright...... well I wasn't pregnant, but I'll never forget how sweet DH was :)

ok enough rambling........ ;)

Is birth control really that hard to use??

It's not hard to use at all, it just isn't "fun"!;) ;) ;)

Becka~ You don't owe anyone any explanations!:)

Becka...your second post made me spit my soda, laugh out loud!!!!....not the only one.......

Yours is not the first dodge the bullet story I've heard this month.... Met the neighbor mom at the bus stop the other day, she has 3 ages 5,7,9.....I ask "how's your day look?" She says "well I'm not pregnant if that's what you mean!" :p She had the 2 week scare too. And just like you.....she would have been happy to have another bundle of joy....but is also happy she is not.

Becka,
:)

DH and his brother are exactly 11 months apart (I believe Blondie's sons are also 11 months apart). DH is the oldest and I swear his brother has always resented that! I think they are like Esau and Jacob - Esau was born first, but Jacob had his hand on Esau's foot, trying to pull him back in so he [Jacob] could come out first!

And I'm sorry, but that "breeder" comment totally cracked me up!!!
Cheers, dear!!
Pam

I think that a lot of people start thinking they're pregnant when they're not soon after they have a baby. Before you've been pregnant, you don't realize how closely PMS symptoms mimic early pregnancy symptoms. That's the reason that women who are pregnant for the first time don't get tests because they keep feeling like they're going to start any minute now.

If you were referring to my post on trying really hard NOT to be pregant. Well, I'll tell you I have 4 children , by accident, YES and 1 misscarriaged. No, it wasn't the "right" time to be pregant when I first got pregant. The doctor was giving me BC pills and my body thought it was like candy, it just didn't work. So, it was always a surprise. However, I'll just let you know that I love my children and am very glad I had them when I had them. Because they are close they get along fine most of the time. But I have two sets and they are doing different things. Sometimes it is not easy. I am not knocking anyone for having children. I love kids. Children are a gift. Some times are better than other times that's all I was trying to say. So, no one misinterpets me. Oh, by the way I was not even supose to get pregant because I had endometriosis so bad. I am really a blessed mom.

You truly are blessed, Carla. I had severe endometriosis and I was blessed with one child. I'm lucky to have had the one I did.

I actually thought you might post a big Congratulations for once on a pregnancy thread. I thought you would be thrilled that there was not going to be another child being brought into this world.

Well, let me add my belated "Congratulations" then.

nativetxn, you are not surprised at what? That I am so careful with birth control that I've never been worried about "accidents"?
I'll take that as a compliment! :)

You should take it as a compliment, GG, that is how it was intended.
