I work at a hospital 2 nights a week and I've noticed lately that when I'm showing people where to sign their paperwork - I'm pointing with 2 fingers! I've never worked for Disney - what's happening to me??
Whenever I am pointing people places, I point with two fingers as well. I used to only point with one, but then I found out it was the Disney way to point with two, so I decided I had better start my training early.
After taking the Traditions class at WDW you are never the same. They drill this into you. I always point with two fingers now even at other parks when helping out guest.
I think I tend to point with a wave of my whole hand, using a twist of the wrist. It must be because I know the one finger point is "not nice". I will see if I can natuarally do the two finger point.
Actually, I usually try to walk the person over, instead of pointing. That is really giving the best customer service.
It has been many, many, many years since I've worked for Disney and I still use the two-fingered point. I've had strangers walk up to me outside the parks and ask if I've ever worked at Disney because they recognize the point!
