Ours is in the big marshemellows for haylage, so we wanted it green. Husband loves the pickled smell yeah me no thanks. at least this hay is all tractor work and it doesn't bother my allergies. definately need to convince father that we need a grabber and a cab on his tractor. I'm to old (haha) for this.

On another note and please don't report me to DSS. My almost 9 year old is now driving our 1050 (35hp) tractor and I put him on it, good thing husband was in the cab or he would have fallen off. I'm always freaking out when he lets the older one drive with equipment.

Is that stuff still falling? I'm off to check the weather husband is at a s***mobile meeting.

they switched to the round bails this summer. How does it not explode rolling it green?

I hate the sound that plastic wrap makes!! How do you stand it?
But at least you don't have to handle raw bails, those cut like crazy!!

Uh oh... I'm going to the Pats game on Sunday... pleaseeeee don't snow there!!!! Actually, it looks like it's going to rain all day.

Ok Buff- you are shut off from looking out the window!!!! Hadn't bothered to look out mine until i read your post - gee, thanks a lot! Yup, there are some large clumps coming down under the spotlight!! Geez Buff, take them back!!!!!!!

Buffy it basically pickles. because it's wet and it keeps all the moisture inside. God those suckers STINK. this is really no different that the silage they used to chop and put in wagons then put in the long plastic tubes or put in silos. Husband says it's because they are sealed up and therefore there is no air to let anything happen. If that makes any sense.

And yes the plastic wrap is extremely annoying. I had a winter hat and ear protection with a radio built in so I had it cranked up to try and drown out the sound.

Our wood furnace has been running solid for a week now. Normally that doesn't happen til Nov. It's going to be a long winter.

Snowing off an on here since last night. My husband and DS 15 & 10 are going for a weekend campout with Boy Scouts. At what point does mom step in and say NO! You cannot go. It's rainy and snowy and icy and this is ridiculous. Husband is cubmaster so he has 8 cubscouts who have barely camped before going on this weekend outing to get to know their soon-to-be boy scout troop and I'm a nervous wreck. These kids are going to freeze to death! He keeps telling me "Be Prepared". I'd rather be paranoid. I've seen how the moms send the kids to other events and I can surely tell you that most of them will not be prepared. If you see a news story from Pennsylvania about Cub Scouts freezing to death.....that will be our boys.
