Got back tonight from an overnight trip to a lake with our youth group. I guess its no fun when your mom is one of the leaders and is tagging along.

My DS, age 14, said he hates me and I embarrass him because I make him wear sunscreen.

Tell me please, when do they become human again??????

Liz, Sorry but sometimes it lasts until about 18, unfortunately some last longer than others. I have a ds who is 21.. oh lord 15-19 was awful, 2nd ds is currently 15.. he is not had one TENTH the problems.. or maybe we just know how to deal with him better. But Then.. Just ask me about dd who is 12.. and is sooooo moody... some days I just don't know which way to hobble....

I say alot of prayers. St. Joseph is my favorite... go to guy.. but then I also feel like I have called on the Blessed Mother so much that we know one another by first names.

God love ya! You are a good mom...

You will of course let him have a bit of a sunburn Next time! I stopped fighting with mine ( all I wanted to do was yell..Hey I DO know better than you ... you... jerk!) If we keep our mouths shut as Mom's.... and let them do what they think is right.. Then all we have to hear is " Mom why didn't you TELL ME!!!" ahemmm as Mom's we did.. you just DON't listen!

This is the reason I stay in my bedroom most of the day.

This is also why I have more than doubled the number of days I work all summer.

This is also the reason DH and I go out to dinner ALONE and order pizza for them.

Some days it is them against us and other days they are both at work and we spend most of the afternoon playing....um.....you know.

When I was about 13 I told my mother she embarassed me. Well, to avoid embarassing me any further she took to dropping me off at least 1/2 mile away from my final destination to avoid further embarassment. That was always great You miss the bus or something, only to have Mom drive you and drop you off far away from the school, LOL, she stopped being "embarassing" real quick

I was "HATED" 2 times yesterday...
1) Had to clean room
2) Had to practice Saxophone
before she could play!!

Well when she says that I jump and down and CHEER!!!! I then clap for myself & say 'yes' alot with the hand score gesture for "winning" the mean mom award!!!

OOOh does she get mad...LOL Yes I may have been driven insane.

I have a 16 yo DD and 13 yo DS. DH and I stay up late dreaming up ways to embarrass them. It is SOOOO easy.
