Hi all! Just a quickie, Piper is with her hospital teacher for about 15 more minutes! : Thank you all for the birthday wishes Gram, and my brother and his family came to see us yesterday and brought my yummy strawberry cake! It was nice having a few hours with them, and we also broke Piper out of isolation jail (with the nurse's okay) for about 2 hrs..went and had lunch in the cafeteria, and went for a walk outside since it was about 70!! Things are just kind of rolling along here, we had been doing glucose checks 2 hrs after meals for a few days, but were able to stop. They basically wanted a baseline, right now it's fine, she was running high, but as long as it's under 150, they let it be. We'll start monitoring every time she's inpatient now though, so thank goodness we made a reward chart! The first couple times they checked it, you would have thought they were trying to amputate her arm! I'm not sure about the transfer to Kluge, apparently the deal is that there's a limited number of isolation rooms there, so getting one is the trick! Last night Piper decided she wanted to sleep in the chair..so after wrestling all the poles and equipment to that side of the room, she went right to sleep, and slept well. We'll see what she wants to do tonight. I seemed to toss and turn less in the bed, so that was an improvement for me! We'll see how long it lasts Thank you all for the continued prayers and positive thoughts, they're definitely appreciated!
