I'm Not Riding THAT! A Trip With Character! Piper's Wish Trip 3/2-8 - Upd-4/20

So sorry to hear about Piper's Pnemonia. Wishing her a speedy recovery and of course sending prayers your way. Let us know if we can send more e-cards. My kids loved doing that last time.

Thank you, Krystal.. I'm about to head off for bed, but will post the e-card link in the morning!

Oh No! I am so sorry that Piper is going back to Club Med. I hope that it is a very short stay! You all will be in our prayers!

lynn

Thanks, Lynn

I was behind and now I read you are heading to Club Med. So sorry but at least you cuaght it early. Hope you get a bed in the rehab center!! Prayers being said!

I'm typing quietly since T isn't asleep yet. :sad2:

I have used snapfish for ordering prints and they looked great. They have sales now and then too. I have also used Artscow.com (weird name) for gifts and they turned out great, so I'd trust them on prints too. They are WAY cheap and give you TONS of freebies when you first sign up. Shipping seems a little slow though.

I'm so sorry you're going back so soon.

Loved the additional Trip report. ((((Hugs))) Do you have to have stayed there before to visit GKTW? Without visiting someone onsite? I'd love to walk aropund and tlet the kids play one day :-)

I am so sorry to hear Piper is sick. The pollen is horrible here and Ash is getting sicker too UGH
I hope the stay at Club med is short.:hug::hug:

I hope Piper gets to feeling better real quick!

As far as photo prints go I have used seehere before and they were reasonable prices with a promo code I had found on the internet!

And a lot of times Walgreens will run photo printing specials too!

Wanting to send prayers for a speedy get-well for Piper.

Thank you!

Oh geesh, sorry Tessa isn't asleep yet! I've pretty much decided to just take them to Sam's. Artscow does have great deals though..right now it's 1200 free prints..but only 100 a month. Thank you!

You would probably have to call and ask about the village, but if you explain the situation they might let you visit? I really don't know. Maybe Katie will chime in. Thanks for the well wishes!

I was so excited to find Piper's trip report (even though it was already at page 21!) and then so saddened to find out that she is back at Club Med.:sad1: Sending well wishes and prayers for a speedy recover!

I have had good luck with Snapfish - if you open an account with them (or probably any of the online companies) they will email you specials! Snapfish just had 150 pics for $15 - and free shipping! They also run great deals on their photo books.

Tell Piper to please Get Well Soon!!!

Prayers for Piper at Club Med !!

There are no dormitories at the village. You would have to stay locally. 192 is one of the areas of "cheaper" motels. Also time of year makes a big difference. Prices are best in May and September. Volunteer shifts vary from a couple of hours to 4 or 6 and you can certainly due back to back and work all day. There is no minimum number of hours. All volunteer hours are greatly appreciated.

Katie

As far as I know, to be able to use the facilities, you have to have been there before and come back as a "welcome back" family. Welcome back families can participate in all activities, and I believe have one meal and one ice cream. They cannot spend the night at the village again unless they are unfortunate enough to have another child with a potentially fatal illness.

You can also call and request a tour.

Katie

I just find it funny that "The Lurker" posts twice and then jengru102 (who apparently has been lurking for almost 2 years) posts for the first time!! :)

:welcome: to posting land, jengru102!!! :)

as for The Lurker - you are one very informed lurker! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thanks for posting and thank you so much for the information! We will be a "welcome back" family in November of this year returning with Lauren. :)

Thank you so much, Katie! It's so nice having someone around that really knows the in and outs from a volunteer's perspective. I wish we could have met you!

subbing - I sure hope Piper is doing better - what a sweet little girl

:welcome: Thank you so much for posting, and for the well wishes!

I love it when people who have been reading without commenting post..it totally makes my day! *hint* LOL! Quick Piper update here in a sec!

So sorry to hear Piper is back in Club Med. Hope she gets better soon!

Thanks so much, GB!

Okay, just a quick update..there is NO room at the inn..literally! So much for being all packed and ready to go, though I'll be glad tomorrow! There is a room opening up at KCRC (the rehab center) opening up tomorrow with Piper's name on it..Lauren is going to call me in the am when it opens up. Piper is quite happy with this development..lol. Mommy is relatively happy, but still has that niggling thought that..okay..that means adding another day onto the stay!.. :lmao: I need to look at a calendar and figure out if the three weeks would have us in over Easter, I'm thinking it will...okay, just checked the calendar, and we will be there for Easter, more than likely. On the upside, hospitals usually do it up over the holidays for the kids who are stuck there..and Charlottesville has a LOT more fun places to shop for an Easter basket! I suspect the family would also come up for the day. On the downside..hmm..can't think of a downside aside from the obvious one of being at the hospital! That works! So you guys are stuck with me for another night..just maybe I'll get the village tour post done since we're packed..hooray!

Doesn't sound too shabby the way you put it! Can we come too? :lmao: I bet you get pretty decent food brought right toyou too, don'tcha? Lucky.... :rotfl2: Anyway... at least its not the reg hospital. And can we still send cards to that address thing? Good thing I didn't already send one! They'd think I was crazy- and they can't know the truth!!!
