I'm not a germaphobe, but that is DISGUSTING!!!!!

That is disgusting!

How about using a clerk's pen (when you ask for one), that she takes out from behind her ear??? That totally skeeves me out.

I've never been the type to put a pen behind my ear and always thought it looks so funny. But there are probably less germs there than on the counter where it could be sitting and on her hand that handed it to you. But it still looks funny. Now if she took it out of her ear I would totally agree with you! :teeth:

:lmao: Yes, that definitely would have been worse!

It was just gross, because of the oils in her hair. Ugh.

 :faint: :crazy2:

I should have known better than to read this thread.

Some people still lick their fingers to turn pages, count money, pull another plastic bag from the stack in the grocery checkout....I am amazed that people still do this. The worst one was the lady who was serving food at Boston market. She had gotten some gravy on her hand and licked it off and proceded to serve like nothing happened. We left.
We have a finger licker at work. But the worst part is during any dinners at work she always volunteers to help set up all of the food and always cuts one or two of the cakes and puts them on plates. After each slice that she puts on a plate she will lick the frosting off of her fingers (rather loudly) and then dive right in to get the next slice for the next plate & licks fingers again. I've learned to watch WHICH cakes that she slices and always get a different type of desert. I also notice what she brings to the dinners and will not eat what she brings.

That is beyond disgusting. Some people are seriously missing the "clue" gene.

Have you ever wondered about people tasting the food as they're cooking it? I've seen people do it and then use the same spoon to stir afterwards. To make matters worse, it was at a dinner party.

I do this in my own home, when cooking for my own family, assuming I'm not sick or think I might be coming down with something. But to do it for other people, lick fingers in an office situation, etc is ewwwww. And now that I think about it, I usually get a clean spoon even with my own family and don't taste from the stirring spoon. But with other people it's gross.

If I thought of things that go on in restaurants I would never want to eat out again. I try not to think about a lot of what I know goes on.

One time DH and I were at Subway and the guy fixing the food was the same guy working the register. He kept his little plastic gloves on the entire time he was taking money and went right back to making sandwiches with those same gloves on that had touched bills and coins. DH and I left! :crazy2:

Went to TGIF's on a regular basis and one day sat looking into the kitchen. I got a great view of the salad being served - with their hands even though there was a salad tong right there. We were friendly with the kitchen manager so we told him about this and he went back into the kitchen and closed the doors behind him. Needless to say we dont order salads from there anymore and really havent been there in ages until recently.

 Ok...no more eatting out for me for awhile. Thats just gross. Going to take me a bit to get this thread out of my head.

Oh man. Yuck. Ewwy. And in Minnesota. I better not go to any Thai restaurants. haha. Not that I really do anyways, but hey. And don't take that offensively. Nothing against Thai food. I'm just not a big fan of it is all.

DH and I were on Sunset Boulevard at MGM. There is a bakery there with a large picture window. We watched the cast member pour cookie batter into a container. Some of it got on her gloved finger, so she licked her finger and continued pouring the batter. Her licked finger was now handling the batter.

It's stories like these that make me uneasy about eating out.

EONS ago, I was a bank teller and let me tell ya, nothing is as dirty as money. My fingertips used to get black handling it. :scared:
