I've always been the type that said the only resolution I would make was not to make a resolution. :teeth:

This year, though, the success I've had with WISH and WW has me in a "taking stock of my year" kind of mood. With the help of all you wonderful WISH'ers I've come a long way in the past 6 months--farther than I would have thought I could! I still have a long way to go, but I know I can get there!! And even though I've had success, I know I can do even better! So, I hereby resolve to:

***Finally start a regular exercise program! No more excuses! WATP tapes-here I come!

***Start a WISH journal. I write down what I eat in my WW points tracker every day (if you bite it, write it--right WW'ers?) I really think a WISH journal would give me a new level of accountability. Who wants to cheat when you would have to write it down for all to see!

OK, guys, those are mine! Now let's see yours! :D :D

My resolutions is to start an exercise program and stick with it.

I am also buying the WATP ( I have the 4 mile but am going to go buy the 2 mile to do everday)

I vow to do better---more regular exercise (Curves 3x/then WATP tapes and training for walking the 1/2 marathon in Jan 2005).

Got to stop falling of the wagon!!

I don't like resolutions either.

That said, this year I will resolve to make exercise a regular habit. I think I have my eating under control, but I still need to work on the exercise part. :)

My resolution is to run a 10K by the end of the year, with a mini-goal of a 5K by June. I'm going to start a WISH journal also - it helps when there are people encouraging you along the way!

My main goal is to lose at least one dress size by the end of the year, and get more toned up.

Ok,
I will resolve to add regular exercise to my routine. I know it's like the eating better part. Once you do it, it becomes easy to do.

my resolution is that i will stick to ww and go on an exersice program and do my yoga!!!

Although I do exercise everyday I know that I need to add more toning, weight bearing exercise to my routine. So my resolution is to do just that. I now have no excuse as I got a great set of weights for Christmas!! :hyper:

How will your WISH journal be different from your WW journal? The reason I ask is that I want to start a positive thought journal. Oprah suggested this a few years ago, and I can't remember what they called it...but you put down 4 or 5 positive thoughts each day. I realize sometimes that my world is filled with "no" and "not now" and maybe this would help me to stop adn smell the roses sometimes instead of just always keeping on keeping on. Don't know if that makes sense, but I am interested in your WISH journal. Journals can be very powerful if you use them!

I am another one who has not made a habit of making resolutions, but this year I am going to.
My new years resolution this year is to make time for me!!! I am a mom who works full time and never says no when the kids want to join some new activity (soccer, theatre, Tball, cheerleading.....). This year I am going to put myself FIRST once in awhile. I am going to make the time to exercise because I am worth it (and my family is worth it too!) My excuse for the last 10 yrs is I have no time, but I will make it! Even if it means saying no to a playdate or to volunteering at school. Exercise is the only way I'm going to find success in weight loss, so I am motivated! And I am counting on WISH to help me meet my resolution!

Great resolutions!! :D It looks like a lot us have exercise as a resolution. Whew! I thought I might be the only one here who was hiding from exercise! :o Now I know that I wasn't alone. :D We will do this together!!!

Beth, I thought I would make my WISH journal something like my WW journal but add in some more personal info, like what's going on that day, my thoughts and/or feelings about my program, etc. I really like your idea about positive thoughts! It really does help to focus on the good things that are happening, instead of dwelling on the negative. I'll be looking for your journal!!

Sharoncity, I think your resolution is a great idea!! :D And by putting yourself first sometimes (especially for exercise) you are recharging your batteries, so you will be around for them for a long, long time! We are behind you all the way!

Take a deep breath, everyone! It's almost time to take the plunge!

I resolve to:

Stay OP. I'd like to spend 2004 80% on plan, rather than 80% off. So, even through the inevitable derailments that will come throughout the year, I resolve to stay on plan. And, if I fall off the wagon for a bit (say January 24 - January 31 :sunny:), I resolve to get right back on.

Get regular exercise. I love going to the gym - once I'm there. I resolve to make the effort to go regularly in the morning. If I don't go in the morning, then I must make time at night.

Be accountable. I like the idea of a WISH journal. In addition to my WW journal, it will help me be more accountable for the smaller things.

Hi , I am new to the WISH board but I have set my New Year's resolutions to lose weight by eating more sensibly and joining our local YMCA for exercise. I have lurked on this board off and on and I have seen how much support you give to each other.

ok gang - i'm in

I'm resoluting to:

stay OP throughout January - kickstarting a loss hopefully after a month of not really counting my pts

I love the idea of using my WISH journal as a postive-thoughts journal - I'll vow to enter postive thoughts once a week minimum

get back on track with my exercise regimen - no more putting it off just one more day b/c I have too much to do

hit my goal before Easter and maintain throughout the year

train and walk 1/2 marathon!!!! woo hoo!!!!!

I also don't do resolutions but this year my resolution is simply to weigh less and be healthier on 01/01/05 than I am today. :) If I am only 5 pounds less next year then that will be a success - however I sure do want to lose so much more! :)

I just joined WISH and honestly I'm not a resolution person. (If I don't make 'em I can't break 'em :p ) However I am getting out of my little comfort zone and will say ....I resolve to exercise more! I am at risk for diabetes and have high chlorestoral. (Great BP though, go figure) My doctor's comment on my test results... control and improve by diet and exercise. I'm not much of a daily or even weekly journaler (hmmm, is that even a word?) so I won't commit to that just yet.
Baby steps across the room to get exercise dvd, baby steps to dvd player....I think I can, I think I can...

Hi djgeffers1!! I just wanted to welcome you to WISH!! I'm glad you decided to de-lurk and join us!! :D

1) renew my avid, constant **clapping** for the tag fairies - I would love to share some chocolate with them, but at the moment there is none in the house, it has to be 'out of here' - so that I can concentrate on losing my next 15-20 lbs. But, be assured, that I believe and am positive that they will continue their wonderful surprises to all ;) whew lot say while "avidly clapping"

2) a water bottle sitting on my desk and to drink more H2O everyday

3) climb the stairs at work (8 floors) at least 3 x per week but really aiming for at least once a day

4) regular exercise - and to add a variety- not just walking

5) train for the 2005 1/2 marathon

I got more but this is a good list to share :p

My first resolution is to stop hiding from this board, LOL! I come here periodically with all good intentions, then slip off the wagon and in my little free time visit the CB and never get back here. Probably because my will power stinks, and after a few days give up my weight-loss mindset, and there you go. So, this time, I resolve to visit the WISH Board first when I log on to the DIS, and I think that will help me stick to my weight loss goals. I also really, really want to make exercise a habit, and not a chore. So that is my second resolution. I think if I can just stick with it long enough to see some results, that will give me the incentive to keep going. Thanks for starting this thread.:D

I'm with you!
I will get back to WW which is successful for me when I do it!
I will exercise. I will exercise. I will exercise. Did I say...I will exercise. :teeth:
