I'm looking for a good RCI timeshare near Universal and Seaworld.

My Aunt has offered me the use of her RCI timeshare to transfer into a timeshare somewhere in the Orlando area. I know of some good timeshares near WDW like Vistana Resorts and Orange Lake but I'm not really sure about what might be good near Universal and Seaworld. So do any of you have advice on what is a nice place to stay near Universal and also are there any places to avoid?

This trip will be my first time visiting Universal. I plan on spending 3 days at Universal, 1-2 days at Seaworld and a day trip to Kennedy Space Center. I will have a car on this trip. This will be the first time I've ever visited Orlando without doing WDW so I'm hoping I won't have to drive by WDW every day to go to Universal, I'm not sure if my willpower is strong enough to drive by without turning onto Disney property... :rotfl2:

one of the best - Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Seaworld - is across the street from Seaworld.

It is lovely.

there are couple kinda close to US/IOA - go see if I can find them.

looks like it has 2 codes

one for 7 days - 3517

one for 5 days - 7705

there is also a marriott - doesn't say on RCI - but trust me - it is a marriott
Cypress Harbour 2619

orlando sunshine resort - 1998 & 5592

the numbers are how RCI refers to them.

We also like the HGVC at Sea World.

Sheraton Vistana is a painless drive to Universal and Sea World. Most times of the day it's 10 minutes or so. You might hit traffic at rush hour, but at it's worse it isn't too terrible.

Embassy Grand Beach is right across the street from Vistana and would also be a good option.

Thanks guys!

It looks like HGVC Sea World is a good choice. I'll look at the others too. I plan on doing this in May 2008 so I have time but my Aunt said it was best to get the request for the transfer in as soon as possible if you have your heart set on a specific place.

hGVC is still done the old way - they dump a bunch at one time.

go join tug.

www.tug2.net

then look at the sighting/distress on the BBS board. they have the bulk spacebanking. so you will know when to try for the hGVC.

in Dec, 2006 - HGVC was only up to Sept, 07

I agree with everyone - Hilton Grand vacation Club. We love it and you really can walk to Sea World.

Yet another vote for HGVC. We stayed in a 3 bedroom that was bigger then our first house. It had a 48 inch projector TV in the living room, 3 bathrooms, the bathtub in the master bedroom could fit a family of 4 (It stormed the 1st day, so we used it as a private pool.) 2nd bedroom had to queen size beds and a TV, 3rd bedroom was like a private apartment with its own bathroom, mini fridge and sink, couch, table, chairs and balcony. Our then 7 year old was in heaven. Huge pools with water falls, grocery store with lots of freshly prepared foods (VERY expensive, but convient) game room. Lot's of planned activities.

Can you tell we had fun? Only down side for RCI is it has a 1 in 4 year rule.

Hilton Grand vacation Club is my choice.

it is in the close proximity to Seaworld and other attractions.

We stayed in HGVC Sea World in Sept. It was beautiful. (We got it as an Extra Vacation from RCI.) We had a 2 BR and plenty of space.
While driving to the Outback Steakhouse, we passed the HGVC on International Dr. This one is newer and pictures looks stunning. I thought it would be nice to try also. May be a little further from SW/USO though.
