She must be a riot to have as guest.:rotfl:

I must admit I offered up a little prayer for the DVC members who were kind (or stupid??) enough to put her up. My mother would be proud! ;)

NOT ONCE have I ever been called after checkin, by the sales staff, trying to sell me more points.
DVC just doesn't do that.

Thank you. That's what I thought but glad you confirmed it. :thumbsup2

Compassion people, I thought making fun and negative remarks about posted threads were a no no. Everyone is entitled to there thoughts, this person had a bad time. I think you all were wrong making fun of this person and her thread. This thread sounds like a cat fight.

At least they should have been kind enough to take the host to an offsite restaurant and show them the fabulios food they were missing out on at Ming court. :scared:

We've been members for 14 years now, with over 50 different check-in's to a DVC resort.

NOT ONCE have I ever been called after checkin, by the sales staff, trying to sell me more points.

DVC just doesn't do that. And since she said that, which is a blatant lie, I tend to believe everything else she said if a fabrication too.

Actually we just got back from HH & we DID get a message from our sales rep. welcoming us to HH & wishing us a great vacation, but also to let us know he was sending out a packet regarding the new AKVs & he offered a little info. regarding the new villas. Not that it bothered me & it wasn't by any means pushy, but it does happen. This was our third visit to any Disney property as DVC members & the first call.

GOSH , I just bought last year. After reading this person's review , I'm going to have to sell my points. I do NOT want to vacation in a Disney that treats everyone like she was treated . I hope her friends use their points on her outside of DVC next time , she needs a real vacation. Maybe they could send her somewhere in the concierge collection next.

I know a few people that have that bad of a time with everything they do. I just don't travel with them.

:lmao: There is a poster here on the disboards (not in the DVC forums) and I won't mention names but their responses are almost 100% negative. Someone can post a simple comment- no matter how innocent or benign- this person shoots off a contrary comment. I always think of Debbie Downer when I read his/her posts. It is almost comical.

::yes:: Very wise! I will buy them from you at 50 dollars per point. [My fiendish plan worked!!! :scratchin] :lmao: :rotfl:

As the OP, I've thought about what you said. I certainly would never consciously mock someone or put them down. I don't like when people do that. But this particular review (from Trip Advisor) is so fantastical, so unlikely in parts that I almost treated it as fiction. Also, remember, the reviewer, although she obviously has a 'name' (a nick) on the TA board is completely unknown to us here. Even if she posts here, which perhaps she does, well her DIS anonymity is protected. I hope that make sense. :goodvibes

I personally dont think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that most parts of her post is fiction.

We also got a message from our guide when we were there in February, welcoming us home and saying he had some great deals going, if we were interested to give him a call. It wasn't pushy, and it didn't bother me in the least. He's also called us on other trips just to say welcome home and to make sure all was well. I call it good customer service!:)

I've gotten a message from my sales rep on both of my DVC trips. The first was just to say "Welcome Home" and if I had any questions, to call him. The second was to remind me about the current deals and to call if I was interested. I didn't find them pushy at all. Since they were on voicemail, I had the options of not listening to them. In fact, I think I was in the room when the message arrived on the second trip, which would mean he sent it straight to voicemail.

I think you were right to treat this as fiction, because it obviously is!! Sounds to me like it was written by an off-site timeshare company or maybe a worker at Universal!

I would take all reviews even those posted here with a grain of salt. My motto is, if I did not see it happen, not sure it did and even then I might be confused.;)

I had the pleasure once of checking in behind a guest who had a "Vacation from Hell". She posted her check in experience here on the DIS in a trip report.

I stood right behind this person for the entire hour as she experienced her nightmare and what I easily overheard, as she was shouting, and what she posted here, were not even near the same.

Reviews do make for interesting reading though. :rotfl:

Thanks for the laughs! Unfortunately, it's not that funny when you are the DVC owner footing the bill and your "guests" whine like that.

While I laugh at how whining she was, I cringed and felt sorry for the DVC member who wasted their precious DVC points to house her ungrateful butt! As someone who did a big family trip like that in the past, and swore never to do it again, I can empathize.

Guess what, DH just told me last night that his parents called and wanted to do another family WDW trip in 2009!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

I think that's the key. I don't think that the report was total fiction, but it WAS intentionally written to highlight the negative.

For whatever reason, she had a miserable time. Perhaps she was just predisposed to hate Disney going in, yet tagged-along due to the free room. Who knows? But once you figure out that she hated the trip, the rest of the report was pretty predictable. She mentioned...what....maybe 4 meals out of the entire trip? I suspect there were a few good ones conveniently forgotten.

About the only thing missing from the report was a some comment about the "horrible children" she saw at every turn. :rolleyes1

Hopefully she voiced her "unhappiness" to the DVC owner's that invited her. This way they never take her again!:rotfl2:

I just can't believe that all that happened to her in one trip. Maybe she should stay at home next time.
