I have seen this commercial a lot of times. But everytime I see it, I laugh out loud. Even if I'm the only one here. I know it's not a funny topic -- it's sad and it really happens. But this lawnmower man just cracks me up. I have no idea why..... Anyone else laugh at this guy or at other commercials?

We laugh everytime we see it too. I love the way the guy says it like he's just shooting the breeze. Another commercial that cracks me up is the guy whose son was accepted into an "Ivy League" college, and it shows him pawning his stuff, introducing their new tenant to his wife, etc.

OMG!!!! I love that commercial!!!

It reminds me of my neighbors..........

One time I recieved their Discover card statement in our mail but didn't realize it was theirs (we have a Discover card also). Well......I opened it and then proceeded to have a near heart attack. I immediately marched in the house and asked my poor hubby what in the hell he had done.....the balance was over 10,000!!!!!!

After my poor hubby professed innocence ten times over I really looked at the bill and saw it was my neighbors.....poor people......but atleast it wasn't ME!!!!

Ummmm....yeah, I had to. I told them I had a Discover card also and I was sooooo sorry....they were really sweet about it...poor people.

It is hilarious. I have in-laws like this. Electricity gets turned off but they have 4 cars - with 2 teenage drivers

I love that commercial. I think the reason I find it so hilarious is that I've got relatives like that "Oh, did you see our new SUV?" (leased) "We just got new bedroom furniture!" (credit card) "Look at my new diamond ring!" (credit card) Etc., etc., etc.

So, it's funny to watch a commercial that verbalizes the unspoken part of keeping up with the Joneses: "I'm in debt up to my eyeballs!"

I'm waiting for the day when it's actually cool to have 401ks, IRAs, and ESAs -- then maybe I'll be able to brag back.

Yep, DH and I crack up at that guy too. Especially DH. He thinks it's funny because the guy just says it so conversationally and with that big smile on his face.

What I find sad and disturbing though is that the commercial is for a company to do loan consolidation thru and home equity loan. Oh yeah, take your lousy financial situation and make it worse by leveraging your home. Not good financial advice!

ETA: The other commercial I find laugh out loud funny is the Celebrity Cruise Lines one with the guy whose vertical blinds are stuck and he says, "I think of this as a temporary exile." I LOVE that commercial. Ohhhh, I feel that way about my life somedays too!

Who needs another commercial with the hopeless frustrated looking people going thru their bills... Or another fakey smilling, sign the mortgage on the dotted line, commercial.
