Goodness has life been nuts lately! I'm finally in Florida! But first let me back up a bit as it's been a little while since I've been able to post.
On Friday, Dianna and her mom came over and helped me start the monsterous task of packing my multitude of stuff. It was soo overwhelming! We didn't finish that day but we managed to make somewhat of a dent. My family arrived that evening. Mom had accidentally written down the wrong phone number for my room and then wondered why she kept getting a busy signal. hehe. She then decided just to go knock on my door which startled me because I wasn't expecting her to do that. We all went out to dinner that night. Dianna's mom brought presents for me! I got a Belle picture frame, B&TB sheets, Belle wallborder, and a B&TB overnight bag.
Saturday was the graduation. I remember now why I hate graduations...they are sooooo boring! They didn't even call out names and it still took like an hour and a half for everyone to walk. After we all ate lunch and made one last stop to my fav used bookstore, I said goodbye to my family (and cried), and then for the next 2 and a half hours, Dianna and I finished packing and moving stuff out. It's a miracle we actually did it!
We didn't go far on Sunday- only to Chattanooga. We got to stay at the most awesome hotel! It had rooms that are in real sleeping cars of an old train! The whole place was themed to a train station. We went to a Thomas the Tank engine thing at a train museum and also saw Ocean Wonderlands at an IMAX theater. I had wanted to see the Titanic one, but it was done for the day by the time we got there.
Monday was one heck of a long day- the trek all the way from TN to FL- and boy did it take forever! It was about 11am when we left and 10pm by the time we got to Dianna's apartment. But I made it! I did the whole drive. Thank goodness I wasn't traveling alone though or I would've gotten so lost.
Dianna's apartment is quite nice- she has lotsa stuff including a whole bunch of books that are just the kind I like to read. She also has tons of Disney princess stuff.
I'm sleeping on a matteress in the living room until we move into a 2 bedroom place next month.
I met Chris at the entrance to MGM yesterday morning so he could get me in the parks. How wonderful to be there again! But I really want my CM benifits back. It cost $7 to park without my CM ID. (I suppose I could've gotten away with flashing them my [expired] WDWCP ID, but I was too chicken) I was very happy to see Chris again. We finally get to have a local relationship! Throughout the day, I went back and forth between hanging out with Chris who was greeting for Mickey and roaming around. I only went on 2 rides all day- Star Tours and RnR, both walk on! You know the park isn't crowded when RnR has a 5 minute wait at 1pm. When you've had the chance to explore the parks alone as often as I have, it gets to the point where it's more fun with a companion. I tend to save attractions for when I'm with someone.
Chris is such a fun character greeter. He was having a blast with all the guests- extremely silly.
Keep an eye out for him at WDW! He's lately been with Lilo and Stitch or MGM's Mickey most often.
After he got off work, I drove him to his house and hung out there for several hours. His mom brought snacks for us- yummy. He had a graduation gift for me- Josefina's spencer dress and jacket, an American Girl doll outfit! You know you got a great guy when he is not only willing to put up with a doll lover but will contribute to the cause. He had also picked up a CM pin for me which features Belle sitting at a mirror putting on make-up as if she's preparing to go on stage.
The most difficult part about finding my way back from Chris's place was getting out of the housing complex! I ended up driving in circles for a while...thank goodness for cellphones! Chris's dad was able to find me and lead me out.
When I got back to the apartment, Dianna had taken out a set of drawers for me to use. She had put my AG doll clothes in the top drawer. While I was digging through it for stuff to change my dolls into, Dianna commented that I must not have been very good at finding presents my mom hid. I caught her meaning and looked in the drawer again. I pulled out a bag with a familiar logo on it- another AG outfit! It was Samantha's blue winter party dress- lovely. I'm so spoiled.
Today, I interviewed to audition for characters and got set up for the audition with no problem. It was really easy- she just asked me and another girl a few questions: why I wanted to work at disney, what was my fav part about my last job, why characters, and what attribute about myself would be good for characters. I'm attending the actual character audition tomorrow. I just hope they are hiring full time characters in my height.
