I don't know why I've been hesitant to try DDP...after all I have a 16 year old, 6ft son who knows how to clean his plate and anyone else's at the table. But for some reason, I was very anxious about this plan...what if we had to spend OOP for breakfast...or if we ran out of credits...what if it became too much work to keep track of...or just too complicated for befuddled old me? And I did the math...$1248 for 8 nights for a family of 4 kids are 11 and 16...do we really eat that much???? I did more research here and I began to think we could do it...and it was worth it....am I right? Or are all you light eaters and we are just a bunch of hogs???

Tip and taxes are included so that helped make me decide to give it a shot...we are usually big tippers...do any of you ever feel guilty and tip above the plan?

Sorry if this is way too long and choppy...i haven't been getting much sleep lately...i've been on this really cool disney site wayyyyy tooo much!

Right after i posted this...i see the next thread about the DDP for 2007 not being as good....this is just my luck...now i'm still unsure.

You will love the DDP. Stop worrying. Family of 5 here, and it was very easy to understand and use(we used it aug 05) you get a ticket each time you buy stuff showing what you have left and if that doesn't work for you, you can ask your front desk to make a print out anytime you need showing what you have left.
Odds are high you will be able to use the snacks and left over desserts as fill ins for those breakfasts or extra meals you may want. You can always buy a box of cereal and some milk if you really need extra fill in.

You have to do some pre-planning but you have to do that anyway even if not on the plan. Keeping track of the credits is easy and your hotel Guest Services people can provide you with a printout of where you used the credits and how many are left 24 hours a day.

Figure that breakfast buffets, about the cheapest way to eat at a sit down place on property are going to cost over $100 for the five of you (more like $130+ with tax/tip) so it could be a good deal. If you really have to go cheap do as I once did...stay offsite, hit a cheap offsite buffet or Bob Evans each morning, pack either return to your room for sandwiches at lunch or sneak them into the parks. Have a small dinner either on or off-site.
