I'm going to try to book. Any suggestions to improve my chances?

I will be going for a category 4 room -- can I book that for just 2 people? We may have to add DD - special needs, but I hope we don't have to. We sometimes have a hard time finding a reliable baby sitter to watch her at home.

If we can't get a Cat 4, then we would have to consider getting 2 staterooms, in which case I would do a 5/6 and an inner stateroom for DD and sitter. Actually, it might be better to make that my first choice since I would really want DD in a separate room if possible.

Also, what is the entertainment like on these cruises? Do they have they same shows?

You may have less of a wait if you use the 407 number, that would be my only suggestion. I did get on the MC the one year that we wanted to do it. Pixie dust for you!pixiedust:

I think that booking a cruise is different than booking a reservation, because if you go to change the number of people in a room it's a whole new reservation. I think with the MC, then you then have to pay the regular booking fee, but that is something I would get straight in my mind before hand, so why don't you call MS and ask. IF you did book that second room right at the start and then find you don't need it, cash would be the best payment, because the points would be reservation points and not be able to be used at a DVC resort.

We're looking forward to the 2010 MC if there is one.

My suggestion.... if you think that there is ANY chance your DD will need to go put her on the intial reservation. If you pay cash for her you can get a refund if you do find a sitter.

Room capacity is not the only deciding factor on if you can "add" a person on a cruise. Dining seating etc also plays into it. So if you try calling before the cruise and trying to add her you may get locked out.

I called the 407 number a few years ago and went into "holding pit" I was at an appointment, came back and discovered that folks who called in WELL after I did had already booked. Hung up, called 800 number and got right through...so........ I have hit "holding pit" with that 407 number several times. I complained to DVC about the phone system, but....:confused3 It's probably run by the Disney IT shop!:rotfl2:

I booked my teen son as cash on our 3 night Wonder cruise. I did use some Disney Rewards dollars towards his cash ressie. If I decided to take him off of the booking, will I get the cash portion refunded as well as the Disney Rewards?
