Current conditions here.....

Minus 37 Fwith a MINUS 63 F winchill!!!!

(Or for the people who "think in celsius" like myself... that's -39C, -53C windchill.)

It's been frigid here all month and is supposed to continue, but this is the coldest so far.

Ummmm.... brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!   That'll be one cold walk across campus tomorrow!

Dan... that was too funny that we both posted similar threads at the same time! :teeth: (Though the time on yours is a few minutes earlier... I played around with changing the font sizes and colors for too long I guess! :p )

ick!!! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

I'll take our Texas Summers over yalls psycho winters any day of the year!

::yes::

OMGoshness!!!! That is some cold.

This is why they call it Winterpeg, right??

Sheesh, stay indoors, bundle up, and stay warm.

That's disgusting! I got chills just reading that.

Roberta

Gosh I thought 6 below was cold!!!

Lynne, does your house make weird noises when it's that cold?? I swear, a few years ago when we had extremely cold temps ( it was in the minus 20s) my house would make an odd thud noise now and then. It was strange!!:earseek:

Stay warm!!!:sunny:

Yikes! How do you stay warm when it's that cold?

Yikes! I will take my -18 with a windchill of -33 over your temps any day!!!!
DANG THAT IS COLD!!!!!

OMG, I can't imagine living where it was that cold. I think the teens is too cold for my bones. Stay warm.

You win!!

2 weeks ago it was around -24 and windchill of around -40ish here. It was however nearly as cold as you in Northern Maine during that time. We have since warmed up to the 20's(as in ABOVE 0)!!

Come on SPRING:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Can you really even go outside your house when it is that cold?

I would think you would step outside and form into one of those giant blocks of ice! :earseek:

Shoot...we shut the whole town down here if we even get a little tiny sprinkle of snow come our way!:wave2:

Well, unfortunately, yesterday it went down to -44 C without the wind chill factor here! It was something like -55 or -59 C with the wind (at that point what's a few degrees!). On days like these I'm thankful we have a heated garage at our house and that my DH drops me off at work (because he also has heated underground parking!). He got from home to work and back again with never having to go outside. I was only outside long enough to walk from the car to the front door at work! Schools were still open in Regina though although we live out of town and they did close some there. Not much ever shuts down in Saskatchewan! I work for a construction company and our field guys were still out working!

OK you WIN in my eyes......anything under 70 degress and I bring out the blankets........:o I guess you guys don't want to hear how its 68 degrees down here in :sunny: S. FL. Don't hate me too much please.

Kitty... yes, we do hear weird "thuds" and "cracks" in the winter... it's the cracks that don't sound good, LOL... just doesn't seem right that the house should crack! :p ;)

Serena... how do we stay warm when it's that cold? Well... a lot of clothing! :p Today I had on my solar fleecy long johns! :teeth: The number of kids walking around the University with HATS on is pretty large too!

CBRorBust... can we even go outside our houses when it's that cold? Yes, business as usual here (schools are open and everything)... so you just try not to breathe more than you have to! :p It seems to be the breathing that makes it feel even colder since you can really feel it. So you take a deep breath and try to make it from one building to the car etc as fast as you can! :p And you try to avoid going outside as much as possible. For instance I took the 20 minute inside walk vs the 7 minute outdoor walk today! :p

A friend of mine was going to use a hottub outside this weekend and my eyes just about popped out of my head, because I can only imagine stepping out of the hottub... I would think the water would very quickly ice all around you!

Stephen's Mom... same here... schools are open in the city, but not too many in the country.

Piglet's Pal, could you share just a little!? :teeth:

Everyone with cold weather... stay warm! :sunny: Everyone with warm weather... enjoy! :teeth: I'm sure you get your uncomfortable days of the year, whether from heat or what not, so enjoy. :sunny:
