Well after my hugely self serving 'i'm going to Disneyland [Paris]' thread just thought I'd start another! Two disney trips booked within a month, I've gone mad!!

Anywho it's my first time onsite, at Saratoga Springs in August for 14 nights with free dining!!
We're in Orlando for 15 nights total but jut waiting to find a decent price for our first night there, in one of the Universal hotels to make use of that front of the line access perk!

Am a bit daunted at the prospect of making ADRs as we normally stay offsite and like to eat whenever and wherever without being 'tied down', but I'm sure you guys will help me if I need it :)

Merry Christmas to all y'all :)

Flying into Orlando on the 5th August, check into SSR on the 6th.
Not done August before but there was a 47% off plus free dining on SSR and OKW so that was all I needed to convince DW ;)

Can't figure out how to get on the online reservation site, not even worked out when my 180+10 is yet (see, I've picked up the lingo ;) )! Nor have I got a reservation number from my travel agents!!

My worry isn't about the ADR's as such (well, it kinda is, never eaten at a single Table Service restaurant at WDW - well except our wedding meal but that was at Shula's) but more the having to be at a certain place at a certain time.
I know some people love to compulsively plan where there going to be, on what day, months in advance, but we tend to not know where exactly we're going til we've arrived in Orlando :lmao:

Still, the planning will see me through school until July :lmao:

It's really ok. First get your reservation number from your travel agent which will be 12 digits. Then enter the us site, under book click dining reservations. When you pick a restaurant you will be given the chance to retreive your reservation by entering said number, surname, resort and arrival dates. It will then open dates availble to book. It can currently book up to jun 20th so another month or so yet.

Planning dining is fun!

Why isn't your travel agent letting you know when you cab begin making your ADRS and more importantly....why isn't your travel agent making your ADRs for you?

As long as we are being self serving..... I know a travel agency that does all that for you.

<cough..cough>

Lol I'm sorry Kevin, our travel agent is actually my good friends dad, who booked our whole wedding so I feel a kind of loyalty to them!
They haven't had the reservation number back from Disney yet, it seems that Disney aren't as easy to deal with for uk travel agents as they are for uk.
Also I didn't think Dreams would be able to access the UK specific deals like we have gone for (47% off plus free dining for uk guests at SSR or OKW).

I AM however going to get a quote from Dreams on our one night Universal hotel as well as Universal and Sea World passes etc so all isn't lost ;)

Thanks for that, should get the reservation number soon so will give the ADR online system a check out.

Guess I'll also have to trawl through the podcast archives for all of Kevins dining reviews to see where I'd like to try! Gives me some listening while the podcast is on a break :)

This would be great - would it work for uk bookings / discounts / flights etc?

Aye, that's what I was getting at. UK Travel Agents don't seem to be very good at Disney stuff beyond the initial booking :(

:goodvibes

I understand your problems Luke!

I wanted to go with dreams for my reservation, but with the exchange rate, it was actually cheaper to book through the UK website by a couple of hundred pounds!!

Don't worry, I will be making my reservation for universal with you guys for sure! :thumbsup2

Since we're all being self-serving... :)

(Plugs "August 6 2010" into his ADR Calculator...)

Your reservation date is: August 6, 2010.

Your first day to call for standard 180 day ADRs is: February 7, 2010.
Since you are staying on site, you can call on this date to book dining reservations through the end of your stay up to 10 days (the "180+10" benefit) through August 15, 2010.
