I'm going to be on Good Morning America!!!!!

My choir, the New York Metro Mass Choir has been invited to appear on good Morning America on Christmas morning! We will be singing several holiday songs, one to open each 1/2 hour segment of the show. We will be apparing with Luciano Pavoratti, Clay Aiken and Sheryl Crow. I don't think we are singing with any of them. Oh, the show is not live....we tape on Monday.

The local news for ABC did a piece on the choir which they passed on to a producer of GMA. They loved it and wanted us for the show. Our director sent over the promotional materials and CD and that is when the invitation came in....but with one catch...the could only accomodate 75 people max. We are a choir of 130. When it was announced at rehearsal David said he would choose by lottery and everyone's face just fell. Well, the next day all of our prayers were answered when a call came in inviting as many members as we had in the choir. They are focusing as much on who we are...our diversity, community service and outreach as much as they are on our music. This is the exposure we need to take us to the next level.

No can do ont he Lime green! We are wearing all black with red scarves. I'm usually right in front.....short blond hair and glasses.

As for the repitoire.....Joyful, Joyful ( the arrangement from Sister Act II), Little Drummer Boy arranged by our director, Go Tell it on the Mountain, Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas, and possibly one or 2 others. They also want us to have some of our concert repitoire prepared....like we wouldn't...LOL! The Christmas songs are the ones we now have to prepare and learn. Joyful and Drummer Boy are in our Christmas concert but the others are not. So just when we thought we could rest....more rehearsal! I think I'll do my Christmas shopping in January from now on.
