I'm Going Bagless

I always go bagless. So easy to not have to go thru bag check lines. I guess I "travel light" cause all I take is my phone (use camera on my phone) and might put a few dollars in my pocket. I use the magic band for anything else I need. I usually wear cargo pants/shorts so there are a few more pockets if needed such as times I slip a poncho or a small water in my pocket.

As a kid I'd always groan because dad and I would have to wait for mom to get through the bag line, but for the last couple years she's managed to go bagless, and I think she's more excited about not going through the line than we are about not waiting for her. It does feel like you get a head start when you can skip a massive bag check line for sure!

The best park days are the bagless days!!!

Last trip we went bagless. My kids were 5 and 11. It was also a strollerless trip.

BEST TRIP EVER!

It was nice not to have to carry a bag or find a spot for the bag on rides or remember the bag.

We would just carry some cash and our ID in a lanyard. And our phones in our pockets.

:cool1:I am going to try for the first time ever to go into the world without a bag. No bag check for me no sirree:cool1:

For me, the only way to go. Don't have to wait in the bag line, don't have to worry about lugging a big bag in the heat. Don't have to worry what to do with the bag when going on rides. As far as water, they have water fountains and you can request ice water at any stand that has fountain beverages (and it is filtered water for those worried about the cleanliness of it).

For the folks who said - what about sunscreen?

I go bagless all the time. I do take a small travel sunscreen in my pocket in order to re-apply. The little tiny ones do fit in a decent size pocket. I do wear shirts with short sleeves to cover a bit more and I am lucky that I can skip re-applying on my legs - they never tan or burn anyway - its just cancer protection.

Small coin purse with some cash and extra credit card, baggie with 4-6 ibuprofen tablets and a strand of dental floss, lip balm (winter only for me), sunscreen, phone. Water bottle in a collapsible carrier that attaches to a belt loop. Small camera in case on waistband (attached with clip so it can't fall off). Done.

It is hard to find women's shorts with decent pockets, admittedly. My favorite two pairs I ended up buying in the men's department. Men's black and tan colors are the same as women's! :)

I saw many people going bagless at DLR since they were wearing cargo pants or shorts

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a huge mob at the bag check and just breezing through the bagless entrance. :goodvibes

When I went in September for my honeymoon, I decided to bring a bag for the first time to the parks. It was not worth it to me. Maybe when I have kids, that'll change, but I enjoy the freedom of being bagless too much.

Have fun!

With kids, I totally understand and even without I understand people are different. But for me what little I bring in fits in my shorts pockets comfortably.

You will love it!

Took a little while to convince my wife but since our second trip we have done the same thing every time. So much more freedom.

Our kids are older now (16,12,9) so is now easier than when they were younger. We basically told our kids that if they feel they need something in the park they can carry it around themselves. It's amazing what they now decide they don't "need" anymore.

I'm a bagless lady too:goodvibes I never take a bag with me and it is great to have the freedom. However, I am in my 60's, no grandkids or babies, so it's relatively easy for me. I can understand how those with babies or little ones have to take more, but it sure is great without one. I take reading glasses, bandaids, our medications in a small baggie(think the ones that buttons come in), and put them all in my husbands pockets or in a small pouch that ties around my neck and tuck it in my blouse. Easy peasy. I love the hands free ability and bypassing bag check. You'll love it:hug:

Never could figure what the big deal is about bag check...an extra 5 minutes at the most...

I don't need much, but I sure as heck ain't honing to cram my pockets full just to eliminate bag check..even with just my camera, I happily go thru bag check....I'll wear a small hipster just for a few items, easily checked and then nothing weighing down my pants...

Ditto. I would rather have a small bag than a bunch of stuff jammed into by pockets. To me, that is uncomfortable!

I feel the same way.

And I've never forgotten my bag on a ride. In fact, I don't take it off. It is either around my waist or over my head and shoulder.

Yes, I look like a tourist. But, heck, everyone is a tourist at Disney.

Everyone has to do what's best for them but for what I bring it isn't much more than what I carry on a normal day. I still have my Iphone in my pocket, still a wallet, a comb/pen and my keys. That is all I need at the park as well.

Yep, never been much of a bag carrier.. just extra small things in pockets, but with MagicBands.. I have no use for much of anything else.

Bands, phone in pocket, and if needed a small travel sunscreen.

With the upcoming trip, may try at least one day with Band-only. No phone, nothing else. Enjoy being disconnected as well as bag-free. :cool2:

As a guy i'm pretty used to being bagless, but I remember the days of having a camcorder in a big bag. It really does create fatigue you aren't aware of until you go without.

I think that's what made our last trip our best trip. It was awesome how much more energy I had and that I wasn't completely exhausted by 8 pm. No stroller and going bagless is a completely different world.

Going bagless is one of the goals for the next trip, for me its not the by passing of the bag line but the skipping on the shoulder pain is what I am all about. Honsetly we don't mind spending money on drinks and other small things we might need.
