I'm going back to school!

Yes, this Thursday.. I did a huge step.. I went to a local college with my old (like 15 years old) transcript... and signed up for classes..

Everything I did before transferred! YAY!

Starting in May I will be taking a class at night, short break, then another class...

I also will be studying for two classes I can "test" out of --Introduction to Psychology and Western Civilization I.. if I can test out of them, without sitting through the courses.. I still get the credits (but still have to pay some fees!)..

I got a study guide yesterday for the Psychology.

I know call me crazy, but I am majoring in Education. I love working at the school, I have had all of the teachers I assist encourage me to go back to school...and the principal of my school has told me many times that he wishes I was certified.


I still haven't decided to do Elementary or Secondary... have a few months to decide... I'm leaning toward Elementary..

Congratulations!!!!! I did the same thing and I will be graduating in a few weeks!! I am student teaching now and I know I made the right choice. (just don't read my OMG I'm so tired thread....that will pass soon!! )

Getting the paper work completed and accepted to the school is the hardest part...the classes are the fun part!

Congrats!!!! That's fantastic. I just started back at school this past semester. I never finished (came thisclose to getting an Associates Degree in Biology). I actually am working towards a nursing degree. I'm 26 now and I just keep wondering.... why didn't I do this years ago but I'm glad I am doing it now. Only a year and a half left!!!

Good Luck in school! My mom went back to school for her teaching degree too. She graduated with her bachelor's during my sophomore year of high school. She also got her masters a couple of years ago, the same year I graduated from college. My mom preferred early elementary, before they start getting sassy.

When she got her first job, the parents were nervous because they had heard they were getting someone fresh out of college. They were picturing someone in their early-20's with no kids. The fact that my mom was older & had 4 kids put their minds at ease. Mommy-radar translates pretty well to teacher-radar

Wonderful! Congratulations! You can do this....I went back to school in 1984 after being out for 21 years --my brother told me I was crazy to go back and I would fail--but I graduated with high honors. Am teaching and loving it!

Look around--there are scholarships for "older" students available.
