I'm glad I quit years ago, sure is getting expensive

I was in a hotel in Atlantic City and the person in front of me at the hotel gift shop bought a carton of cigerettes and it was $100.00!! I just looked at hte guy and thought "what a moron" LOL.....I can't imagin just tossing a 100 bucks down on something that is going to eventually kill you!

Just a thought ............

If every smoker in the USA quit, how much revenue/tax would the states lose and how would the states replace that revenue?

When I saw my cousin spending $10 on a carton of cigarettes, I decided I had other things to spend my money on. I am ever so grateful I never started.

Well, in time, they could use the funds spent on health care to replace those 'lost' blood dollars.

....But cigarettes in Illinois cost an additional $8.18 a pack in medical costs and productivity loss, the state Department of Public Health says...

I have only been "smoke free" for 48 hours. Don't know if I can do it but I am going to give it my best. The prices are unbelievable.

Best of luck to you! Stick with it!!! A good friend of mine died today, he was 54 and a smoker all his life. He died from lung cancer that raveled to his brain. It was just months from the time he was diagnosed until he died....of course he quit after he was diagnosed but it was to late....he will be missed!

Never started and never will.

I can't help but think about something my brother once said to me about our annual WDW vacations. It was something to the effect that he wished they could afford to go to WDW like we did. After doing the math for how much he and his wife spend in cigarettes we determined they could afford to go to WDW every year if they quit.

Anyhow, they both still smoke and haven't been to WDW. I guess it's a matter of priorities.
