I have been to Disney World 5 times but this will be my first as a single dad. I am taking my 9 year old daughter. We are so looking forward to this trip. We are staying at the CBR and this will be our first time there.

This board has been a wealth of information but can be overwhelming at times too. I love taking pictures but since its just going to me and my child, do I really need to take my on camera or just get a photo pass?

Any other information for a great father daughter trip will be welcomed too. This will be a 5 day 4 night trip in May.

Thanks

I feel like there are several opportunities that will come up where there won't be a photopass photographer available. You may regret not bringing some sort of camera. We took hundreds of pictures on our android phones, and they were just as good as our camera shots. We stopped using the camera after a while. Do you have a droid?

I personally would bring the camera.

LOVE the CBR!!! Good choice! I'm sure you and your daughter will create a lot of fantastic memories!

I would definitely take my own camera, there will be a lot of candid moments you might want to capture.

Have a great time! Advice? Get there for rope drop and use Fastpasses!

I would also say to bring your camera, I had this same dilemma planning our trip in August, I ended up pre-ordering the photopass CD and plan on bringing a camera/camcorder.

I hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

Bring your camera, for sure! You can snap some fun pics of your little girl on the rides and at character meals. :lovestruc And you can also hand your camera to the PhotoPass Photographers and they will snap some shots with your camera. Instead of lugging my digital camera AND my phone, I just used the camera on my iphone 4S and got tons of wonderful pics. And some video snips too! Your daughter will love looking at all the pics and videos of your wonderful vacation. You could even make a little photo album for her after the trip and she can cherish it forever. :goodvibes

I agree, take your own camera and extra batteries and sim card:) I took over 600 pictures last year and most of them were candid. I love taking pictures of the kids waiting for rides, flower and garden topiaries, parades and fireworks just to name a few. Plus, characters are out and about and those pictures you don't usually get with photo pass.

:) I think you should let her pick a pearl in Japan and then get a small sweet piece of jewelry. I think my pearl was about $17 and my little ring setting was $22. You could also start her a charm bracelet and let her get a charm for special trips just you and her make.

Have a great time with your Pricess!!

That is a great idea! Thank you!

I'd definitely take your camera. I'd also suggest asking other folks to take some pictures of you and your daughter tigether. I'm always happy to do that for people. You could also ask some cast members to take your pic.

DON'T be afraid to ask the photopass photographers to use your camera to take a picture of the two of you. My Uncle is a photopass photographer and does it all the time.

Like others have said I would bring my own camera and use photo pass!! Photo pass is really fun - make sure you ask for some Magic Shots.:wizard: You can get ones with Tinkerbell in your hand at Epcot and MK, holding balloons at MK, holding Simba at AK - they will tell you how to pose and then digitally add the character or magic item into the shot - of course I think there are many more but those are the ones I remember.
