Yesterday and today I have been taking the time to unsubscribe to all of the ads I get in my email. I buy quite a bit on line, and am on the emailing list for Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Gap, Disney, Coldwater Creek, Origins, etc., etc., etc. I bet I have 7 ads every morning, plus more throughout the day. As each one has come in this year, I've unsubscribed. Hopefully in a few days I'll have a lot fewer emails to deal with (and less shopping temptation!)

That's a great idea. I signed up for email 'specials' updates before Christmas to sites I shop at and someone sold my email address! I was surprised and have been receiving all kinds of junk mail! I am not sure I will do that again next year....

But don't do that for all those emails you didn't sign up for. Spammers will know they have a legit email address and send you more emails. Send them to a junk folder but don't unsubscribe.

Right. I knew someone would bring that up. I'm just unsubscribing from all of the retailers and legal newsletters that I don't want. I send spam to a special box at work that they use to improve our filter.
