I'm getting so tired of fighting.....

One of my really good friends is experiencing this-- her husband seems like a really nice a respectable guy, but apparently has had a behind the scenes alchol problem for all their marriage... she fianlly hit her low and left him with their 2 kids- DS10 and DD6. I see first hand how hard this is for her and how she is starting over with absolutely nothing, but she has enormous peace.

She frets about her kids emotional health, but knows the damge would be so much greater if she stayed. She now lives in a run down trailer while he lives in their nice lake view home with pool. She had to take a job cleaning offices and homes afer being a doting SAHM for years. Her husband is doing the I've changed dance and asks her out on 'dates', but she is holding firm.

You can do this. Even if you walk away with nothing you have EVERYTHING because you have your KIDS and your LIFE. Good luck to you.

He really sounds like my ex who is manic depressive but thinks there is nothing wrong with him, even our 18 yr old dd can see it. If he's willing to get help, then you may have a chance but keep safe in the meantime. Can someone change the locks on the house for you?

Amy, PM me if you'd like. Tell me a few things your younger kids would like for Christmas, I'll do what I can. I can send them to an intermediary if you don't want me to know who you are and where you live.

My other thought is the same thing I have said to 2 woman who were in an unhappy marriage... I firmly believe that I will spend eternity in God's glory, but that isn't everyone's belief. Let's say you have "X" number of years on this earth, the happiness of those "X" years is all you have. Is the life you would lead with this man going to give you the joy and happiness you desire? Or would you get to the end of your "X" years and wish you had traveled a different road. With this thought, one woman stayed with her man, and the other left her man. It is not a decision anyone else can make for you.

A question for you Amy - you keep saying he says he's going to see a doctor. Well, Its been a month now and he keeps saying he's going to go. WHY hasn't he gone yet? I fear that he's just saying that now to keep you lingering.

The newest thread by the original poster has been closed due to the issue that the OP might have been using her thread and this forum to scam people out of money, toys etc. If you search other posts by her, you will see that she discusses a future trip and DVC indicating that she has money to spend on items other than necessities.

So, Disers please beware!

Wish the girl the best, pray for her, but do not send her money, etc under the false pretense that it will be used to keep a home over her head and toys for the kids.

Agreed...that's why I posted the link so that those still concerned would know where this situation has gone in the past few days.
