I'm getting so tired of fighting.....

And to think that I have spent alot of time being truely concerned for this womans safety.

I'm not usually one to dig up old posts, but I have been reading the OP's thread and wondering about her. I searched her posts after the new link was posted. It appears that her children enjoyed a December trip to Disney and a cruise, along with the pirate cruise from the GF and the Candlelight Processional. That's wonderful of her mom to treat her family to such an extravagant trip (including a few days in a 2 BR villa) with so many extras - I know my children would not have felt at all deprived if they received that for Christmas instead of a few toys.

Blessings to anyone who helped the OP or offered prayers for her and her family - you have charitable hearts. I hope her children were truly in need and that you made a difference in their Christmas. :goodvibes

The original post does state she was supposed to go to Disney paid by her mom in December.

I know she did mention she was travelling with her mom on the Dec. trip (Did I miss the part about her mom paying for it?)

Anyway, there are a lot of things that don't add up. If dog breeding makes that much money as a side business, then maybe I should start! I don't even make that much money doing daycare.

Just remember folks, what goes around comes around. That was sweet of people to help someone who they thought was in need, and they will be blessed for it. For those people who choose to scam people, they will be delt with also.

If I was in her (Amy's) position, It would not be unusual for my mother to finance a trip for my kids and I. My mother and I have taken a lot of trips together and it wouldn't be unusual for my mother to want to "take me away from it all," even if it is just for awhile.

Seriously, she probably would help me with Christmas too.

Just sayin.....

I might be naive :guilty: but I like to give people the benefit of doubt, as a person that have experienced abuse I know how it could be, and who knows...

but I really do not think (I hope with all my heart) that this was a scam...sorry just my humble opinion :guilty:

I hope that you are right.

I have read both threads regarding this person & I can't say whether this is a "scam" or not, however Amy definitley choose to omit the fact that her family was taking a trip to WDW on the Families board. For many kids a trip to WDW is their Christmas gift & a GREAT one at that. It does make me very uncomfortable that she stated she had no money for groceries and mortgage, yet on other board threads she is calculating tips, Candlelight processional costs etc. Which indicates to me she was at least paying for something & if you don't have money for housing or food you shouldn't be going to WDW.

I feel like she was lying by ommission & then trying to say that first there was another person on the disboards with her username and then changing the story to a friend using her account seems suspicious. It is people who manipulate others that make genuine kindess harder to find.

Krysta I have to agree with you and didn't she first say her friend was going to take her and then it was her Mom who took her? Something doesn't add up.

She did...if you click on her profile you can view all of the persons posts on the disboard and after reading posts looking for dvc info, dining locations etc it just doesn't look good. It is so hurtful that someone would take advantage of the kindness of strangers.

Well, I'm paying $2500 for a dog and most litters have 8-10 pups and most people have 2-3 litters a season. That's some serious $$:cool1:

I just paid $1200 for a puppy and there were 11 I think in the litter.

Vet bills can be huge--office visits, first shots, deworming; hopefullly no big problems like emergency Csection like a family member's beloved dog. Fortunately they were financially able to pay the $1300 bill for the Csection in the middle of the night vs watching the dog and the puppies die.

Also, some dogs (gasp, I couldn't do it) do tail & ear cropping.

There's dog food... Lots of expenses. It CAN be a lucrative business but lots of costs too.

There was once a famous golfer, who was walking to his car after winning a tournament. A woman approached him and congratulated him. She went on to tell him of her child who was sick and in the hospital. She had no money to pay the medical bills, and was sleeping in her car.

Without hesitation, the golfer pulled out his winnings check and signed it over to the woman. She thanked him profusely, and went on her way.

Later, a friend told the golfer that he had been taken -- the woman was a well-known scam artist who had lied to him to get his money.

The golfer was thrilled. When his friend asked why he couldn't stop smiling, he said, "I'm just glad there wasn't really a sick child!"

(paraphrased -- probably very badly -- from a Chicken Soup book)

Like PP said, what comes around goes around. But at least that is one less woman, one less family, in pain and struggling with such serious issues.

She'll comtinue to receive my prayers, this time for her to turn her life around and change herself.

To think that I took the time to be concerned with a pathological liar really makes me mad. I think she posts all these posts about marriage and homeschooling and sickness for all the attention she is not getting from her husband or maybe a terrible childhood that she has not come to terms with yet.

I don't believe a word she says. She needs help alright!!

Sheesh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I too feel like they must groan every time I call!!! We started out with AKV, then went to GF, then to BC, then OKW and now SSR!! I think I'd better stay put! :rotfl: I would've stayed at GF, but my mom decided to join us and it was much cheaper to do OKW or SSR than two GF rooms. Plus, we thought it would be nice to have the boat into DTD in the evenings:)

Must be tough. It makes me sad to think so many people were worried and praying for this person. Plus to send funds to her on top of it. Unfortunately I don't believe in Karma, so I doubt she'll ever get what is coming to her.

I hope no one that helped her feels embarrassed or bad about their choice. If she is a liar, then that is her shortcoming. The people that helped her did a good thing. The fact that it might have been a scam doesn't change that.

Agreed. Plus prayers don't go unanswered, even if we don't know what we're really praying for.
