I'm getting a tattoo

I have a tatoo on my lower back. No one sees it unless I show them, or if I am wearing a shirt that is a little short and I bend over. That is how my mother discovered mine.

Lets see.........how to say this without being thrown off........

as you're a lady, not around the belly button. Looks good now, but what if something breaks, ;), and the belly grows for 9 months, not real sexy then, and, it may never get back to normal....

ankle is ok, but, just ok.

upper body, slightly below the bra line could be good.

lower front, below the bikini line is a nice place as well, as long as there is space cleared for it.

on one of the rear cheeks, or, at the beltline in the back.

favorite,???? has to be the below the bikini line........gives a little bit of nasty to it.

just from a guys perspective. (I like the battleship idea, across the chest. i wonder where the guns would go?)

Smile folks. don't take life to seriously.

Thanks for all the advice so far (both on the thread and in PMs.)

Well I feel that if you are not doing this on an impluse it's ok. If you were with a group and just said let's do it then no way. You should use your best judgement.

Missymouse, it's definitely not peer pressure (and no, the tattoo I'm going to get is not a big orange and blue #7 ;) )

I've narrowed mine down to about three different designs. My uncle has a few and they look really good b/c he designs them himself. I wanted to get one for a while and I'm also thinking of getting one. I want it on my lower back on the side...def not the middle! But, I'm a wuss and not sure if I can handle the pain. There is a thing on MTV tonite about the art of tatts!!!

Make sure you update about how it goes and everything!

Have fun:)

I wouldn't excpect you to get a # 7 because you are not his #1 fan. I am!!!!
If you have thought about it for some time, what is stopping you?

I'm his #1 fan :p My fear of needles is what stopped me in the first place but I really do want to do it.

I don't agree that a tattoo defaces or defiles the body. It is a personal choice. If you don't like them, then you don't have to get one, but to say that to someone who wants one, well that's a little harsh. I have one tattoo, I would like to get at least one more, to cover my entire back. DS has a sleeved arm, and many others, his art work is beautiful. DH has at least 20, they are also beautiful. I got mine for my birthday a few years ago, and showed it to my mother and all my sisters on mother's day 2 years ago. It shows depending on what I have on, it is on my left b*****. I also have 7 holes in one ear and 3 in the other, and another piercing on the one with out the tattoo. And I am almost 50. If it ends up when I am in my 90s that all of it looks different that today, so be it.

Go for the tat, listen to your heart. And remember, all the people who tell you "You don't want to do that", are not you.
