After years of doing nothing but gaining weight, I've finally hit the wall and it's time for it to go away. I just joined the water challenge and the 5 for January, but I've got a real long way to go. Got up this morning and started Billys Bootcamp. Only made it for 15 minutes but thats 15 more minutes than I had done before. I'll try to get an extra 5 minutes each time until I can do the whole hour. I really feel like a mess. Not sure how to put into words what I'm going through but at least the people on this board can understand and help motivate me. Am I supposed to post every day when I finish my water? What about weight loss, how do I get that updated. My lurking hasn't really helped me understand alot about how to get updated. Thanks for any help you can give me. I need to lose about 110 pounds but I'm doing it 5 pounds at a time. Thanks

You've got a great attitude about all of this. Do you have an idea of an eating plan that you want to try? That really helps me.

You don't have to post every day that you've hit your water goal for the day. I think I will keep track of my own and then post on Saturdays. Whatever floats your boat.

When you lose weight (have a Weigh In day once a week and stick to it), you post on to the 5 for... challenge thread. The challenge starter will update the main thread.

WELCOME hdecker!! i'm so very impressed with your attitude at the beginning of your journey to a healthier you! you are very wise to make mini-goals, ones that you know you can accomplish and set your sights there; once those are natural and second nature you'll be ready for the next step and soon you be amazed at the changes!

first, visit this WISH board thread where you'll find directions to add the official WISH clipart to your signature. Using your start weight from the time you joined WISH, at each 5 lb loss you will change your clipart to reflect your accomplishments! be sure to post a big announcement thread so we can send you cyber high-fives along the way!

as far as challenges go, it's really up to you. you can post daily, weekly, at the end of the month -- whatever amount of accountability YOU need, well that's what you should plan on! me -- i need to stop in most every day :rolleyes1

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm really going to need it. I'll deal with that clippy stuff this evening after work. As for an eating plan right now I'm just focusing on portion control. I've been overeating for so long that a serving for me if 4-5 times the recommended serving of anything - like a whold box of shells and cheese, or 3/4 of a pizza. So I am only eatin what the serving size is supposed to be. That will be my Jan accomplishment. Off to measure that bowl of cereal! Thanks again guys!
