I'm feeling so sad ...

As per the warning on the thread, moved to TPAS community board.

We canceled 2 trips because I was unsure about the rollout and final configuration of FP+ ... now with the additional new policies about changing room reservations and the potential of tiered ticket pricing ...

In the end it feels like Disney is trying to convert a resort vacation into a "cruise-like" vacation where they lock you into a length of stay (stay a week or face a penalty), daily excursions (pick your parks and rides in advance or be penalized), pick your restaurants 6 months in advance or expect to eat fast food ... on and on. If you deviate, then you will be penalized. All of this will help them to manage one of their most expensive line items - personnel.

I guess my tickets will sit in my drawer next to my Disney VISA reward/gift cards until my kids use them to scatter my ashes.

I plan to get an Amazon credit card and stop accruing Disney points as I will not be using them. The days of a quick 3-4 days to see the Xmas lights and ride our favorite rides multiple times are as dead as the dodo bird.

Really girl, really? You're canceling your disney trip because of Fast Passes??
I don't know about changing room reservations, but I know most hotels impose fees or give you up to a certain time to change things, so...
And the new ticket system isn't in place yet, so I dont know what the problem is to be honest.

But canceling because you can't figure out FP+... whoa.
If anything, FP+ makes your planning even better. Is it the system that confuses you? Because if you can manage to post on a message board, the FP+ system can't be hard to figure out.
And it's not mandatory either... You can use a regular line.

I didn't see that the OP said she couldn't figure FP+ out. Where do you see that statement?

No, it sounded more like she's worried her experience would be significantly different now than before. I can confirm that is the case. If you were accustomed to riding a lot using legacy FPs, you have to lower your expectations with the FP+ system.

Totally agree with you. Our last experience was very disappointing, even with lower expectations.

We were accustomed to riding a lot with legacy, but we did even more with FP+. It's a different experience for everyone. :)

I'm curious how you managed that and what time of year did you go? We haven't been able to come close to the same number of rides as before and we've tried 3 different trips. We'd always do rope drop and then FP all day, usually getting more than 6 FPs throughout a day in July, even after the return times were enforced. Bear in mind that we would never get in a line that says 20 minutes or more so that might make a difference.

We go every October. On a crowd level 8 MK day last year, we easily got 8 FPs, and that was with no waiting at a kiosk. We booked on kiosks, but changed the experience immediately 75% of the time. Worked out great.

I'll try that in a few weeks. Thanks!
