I lost my cousin about 15 years ago to a diving accident, but the sad thing was that her body was never recovered, despite Royal Navy teams doing walks accross the bed of the loch.

Last night the police came round to my uncles house to tell them that another diver had discovered the body in a wreck 100m down.

Kinda brought it all back to me....but at least theres some kind of closure to the matter now, and my uncle & aunt can now bury her, and have a grave to visit.

So Im a bit numb today :sad2:

I expect you have mixed feelings and that's understandable. I'm glad for your Aunt and Uncle that they can now lay their daughter to rest.

ow thats so sad, :grouphug:

at least it gives your family some sort of closure

my thoughts are with you

aaah thats extremely sad :grouphug: it must give some sort of closure even tho its a sad reminder

Thats very sad news, i hope your Aunt and Uncle are ok. And like you said they can now bury her and visit her grave whenever they want.

This must have been a shock to your Aunt & Uncle and my thoughts are with you

That is so sad,no wonder it has brought all the memories back.

Perhaps there can now be a funeral that could be in some way a celebration os your cousin's life.

So sorry, can only echo what everyone else has said, Tron. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: and lots of pixie dust to help you through it :wizard:

I'm dittoing here, much love to you, I know that 15 years may seem like a long time but I know myself it doesn't stop you missing a person any less, (you just get a bit better at dealing with it) hope this is a relief for you all that it's now a closed chapter and that you can turn your grief into fond memories

Thanks for the kind words....the place where the accident occurred is called Loch Striven, which is roughly the west of Scotland.

If any DIS readers live round that way, there might be a mention in their local papers...id very much apreciate it if anyone spotted anything they could scan/type it for me and send it me.

Very sad news indeed.

I just hope that this can now bring some sort of "closure" now that a funeral can be arranged.

:(

thinking of you and all your family
