sorry! when i wrote this i was very tired and i was staring at my old engagement ring which was sterling silver but not with a 3 carat diamond. i was taking it out to put it in my memory box and it hit me that i should probably tell people on the disboards.

I confuse all my diamond rings too. It happens.

I know several doctors married to doctors. Their combined incomes are easily over $500,000 a year.
I have never seen a 3 carat diamond on a person. I'd love to see the pictures!! After all, my tag says I love good jewelry!

Ok jewelry is one area, that I don't get? What is the point? You spend 3 grand on a rock that is clear that is about the size of a pea? What for? I would rather spend it on a Dis vacation, new TV or many other more useful things if you asked me, just never seen the point in jewlery.

I'm with you on that one!!!

Then again I've been engaged for over 14 years and I still can't seem to wrap my head around blowing all kinds of cash just for 1 stupid day!!!

It would probably help if I divorced first hubby (who I've been married to now for 21 years!!!) same deal though: Divorce vs Vacation? Hmmmm....

Me either actually! That's why DH loves me! I love Diamonique from QVC. Nice big rock for a fraction of the cost and no one can tell the diff until you take it to a jeweler! My engagement ring was a CZ....still have it and love it! Can't imagine paying that much for a "rock". I just don't get it. My sil HAD to have a HUGE rock! Why? She ended up losing the diamond because the prongs were too big. Lost that huge chunk o change for nothin!

Ooohhh... do they make those in toe rings 'cause if they do - I'm gonna have my hubby get me one for each toe for Valentine's Day!!

He's entering a dance contest this weekend and feels confident that he will win 1st place! Plus, in his career he only works in the daytime, but sometimes at night, too, so he earns more money!

I'm with hydster. I shop QVC too. I do have a real diamond wedding set, but I'm terrified something will happen to it.

I love jewelry, but not the price tag of real.

I hear ya, good attitude. I did get my DW a real diamond, only 1/2 carat, but when you can't tell the difference between the real and the CZ I really don't see the point. Its another of those society pressures perpetuated by the diamond lobby

Yeah, I'm not into jewelry or spending big bucks either. But that is a very pretty ring. But way too large for my hand, taste or lifestyle. I couldn't possibly carry off a stone that large. Everyone would just assume it was fake since we are military.

OP, will you have the same problem since you are a secretary & he's a cop? I hope people believe its real. Such a waste of $ if people only end up thinking its fake.
