but someone explain this to me with the whole minimum thing.
So say we decided to go and do the wishes collection even though we may be less than 20....
Say we did it on a Thursday, had the ceremony at wedding pavilion, got our hair done, make up, flowers, photography, cake, and then did the dessert party @ UK Upper Terrace (not even sure we'd meet the min. number of guests b/c I can't find that page that had all the pricing)
So in order to do this Id have to meet the minimum of $12000? And is all of the above qualify to meet the minimum?

I feel like an idiot and like I am not understanding this fully lol. And it would be ideal to keep this under $8000 but it doesn't seem like that is doable with a reception.

Well for a wishes wedding the minimum you can have is $10,000. That's if you have a morning ceremony and reception starting before 2pm that lasts four hours. Also most of what you mentioned would probably put you to the minimum. It just depends how much you spend on flowers or food and all that. And honestly if you do photography through DPS it would because they're a bit pricey. HTH. :goodvibes

Only things provided by Disney on the day of the wedding count toward the minimum, so hair and makeup won't count. Also, on top of the minimum, you need to figure in a couple thousand dollars in service charges and tax, so for a $10,000 minimum wedding you actually pay Disney around $12,000.

You can have a reception with an Escape wedding, it just would be 2 hours rather than 4 hours.

If you did a morning ceremony and reception starting before 2pm you could only have to meet the 10k minimum. It seems like a lot with only 20 people but it's def possible. You could splurge and get the coach, have confetti cannons, serve an AMAZING meal (we splurged there!), and have huge/gorgeous centerpieces and bouquets.

It can definitely be done while still staying close to the $10k minimum. And as Lurkyloo said above the taxes and service charges are on top of the $10k. Our taxes/service charges added up to just about $1400 (and we went over the $10k minimum). Not bad.

What are the options as to where the reception could be held?

I wish I could get a brochure before we planned anything just to get an idea as to how much certain things are and pricing for food. I have a hard time navigating around their website, I know the other day I had the min. amount of people and the min price you'd have to pay at each location for a reception @ WS but I can't find it now lol.

I need to vent, I am frustrated but i may do that in another thread since it would be totally OT lol.

also search these boards. thats whole point of these forums! tons of info so peruse! and welcome!

now under 8K in a way IS impossible for a wishes wedding, but definitely doable with the escape options. just a lot of people find that they are on that 8-10K border, so moving up a bit gives them more bang for the buck!
