I am driving myself crazy with planning my dining. I'll make a list and think "this looks good", then the next day it's "well maybe I should try this". I think I've narrowed things down and would love your input. I'll be going for 10 days on the MYW dining plan.

Lunch:
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Tusker House (CS)
Columbia Harbour House (CS)
Cosmic Ray's (CS)
Casey's (CS)
Yorkshire Fish (CS)
Some cs place at MGM?
Movies food court (CS)

Dinner:
Concourse Steakhouse
Rose & Crown (CP Dinner package)
Le Cellier (possible CP Dinner package)
California Grill
50's Primetime
Cape May Cafe
Spoodles
Cindy's
Yachtsman Steakhouse

What do you think? Want to hear the good, the Bad and the Awful, please (and thank you).

I like your choices. :)

As far as counter service in MGM...I've never had a good experience with CS there. We've decided to just stick with table service and snacks on our MGM days. If you really need to do counter service because of the dining plan, you might want to consider taking the boat over to Beaches and Cream.

Just a suggestion - We have found that with the large servings and "heavy food" if we eat lunch we aren't hungry for dinner. We have changed from this to a larger breakfast such as a character buffect or a nice sitdown and then a nice sitdown dinner with just snacks in between. Otherwise make sure that your lunch is very early and dinner very late.

I'm not a big breakfast eater and was thinking a lighter lunch, then a nice sit-down dinner. Looking at alot of the menus, it seems like it's a better bargan with the meal plan to do dinners vs. lunches.

I thought B&C was a table service? Has that changed? Any good counter services at the Boardwalk? What about at EPCOT?

I've never done the dining plan so I didn't realize that B&C was considered table service - sorry. I guess I think of it more as counter service because you can't make an ADR and they have a walk-up carryout window. I apologize for the confusion.

I'm not sure if there's any CS on the Boardwalk that qualifies for the dining plan - it would have to be something in one of the resorts, and I can't think of anything that's not table service. Now Epcot is a whole different story! There are many great CS choices there. A few of my favorite Epcot CS restaurants (keeping in mind I don't know much about the dining plan) are Tangerine Cafe, Sunshine Season, Boulangerie Patisserie, and Cantina de San Angel.

Happy planning!

Since you are agonizing over your choices, I would not do Councourse or Spoodles (IMHO). I think of Concourse as a convention-type lunch place. In fact, I had lunch there during a convention. Nothing to write home about. And Spoodles was just "yucky" to me. I can't remember what they even had, but I think there are plenty of places that are much better. That's my opinion, FWIW. :earsgirl:

I'm not a CS vet so I will comment on your dinner selections. They look pretty solid. The only one I would question for dinner is Rose and Crown. I'm not a big fan of the dinner menu. That could be a personal preference. Does Chef's de France have a CP package? That would be my first choice.

My big problem is that I'm a picky eater, so pretty much most of World Showcase is out. I was thinking of Alfredo's, but have read some pretty bad reviews. I'm on the fence between the Yachtsman Steakhouse & California Grill. How's Sunshine since it was redone? I was also thinking of doing Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch or O'Hana's for dinner, but I can't decide. If you would not do Spoodles or Concourse, would you do the Yachtsman Steakhouse instead?

HELP!!!!

Love California Grill! Try to go later and hang around for a view of the MK's fireworks! Haven't been to Yachtsman but heard it is good. Liberty Tree Tavern is Stouffer's food - comfort kind of stuff. I've been to Alfredo's - thought it was okay - nothing special. I know what you mean about changing things. I feel like I do it all the time. I am going at the end of August. I will be visiting Prime Time Cafe, Cinderella's Royal Table (lunch), San Angel, Chef Mickey's (breakfast), Coral Reef, and LeCellier for TS. I've been to all of them except LeCellier but have to give it a try after reading everyone's rave reveiws! Good luck and enjoy your trip!

We had the plan in January and were looking for a CS without going in the parks. We went to the Spoodles take-out window for lunch. We liked it! :goodvibes We were able to order a pizza, salad, breadsticks, and beverages. We used 2 CS credits. It was very pleasant eating outside on the Boardwalk. Since it was January it was a little cool in the shade but we made sure we sat in the sun. We had more food than 2A and 1DD(5) princess: could eat!

We're going back in Sept. and we'll probably eat there again. Just my thoughts.

40 days and counting! :sunny:

I did not realize they had a take out window for CS. Sounds like I'll have to give that a try.

We went to Alfredo's for a LATE (2:30) lunch in May; almost had the place to ourselves. We all LOVED it!!! It was me, dh, dd's 16, 14, 10 and 8.
