I'm Dreaming of a WDW Family Christmas...

Oh, that is my all time favorite, Christmas album! I grew up with that!!!! Every Christmas my grandfather would sing "White Christmas"...all my cousins, aunts etc..this is like our family song..and its the song that came to mind when I was visualizing your Christmas Eve:)

" Ji, Ji, Jingle Bells" with the Andrew Sisters, love it!!!

OT, another season..lol..what are your dates again for F & W, Laura and I will porbably be there sooner now...(since I am a Nonnie now, Julian's bday is 10/11, his first one, I cannot be in WDW ..lol)

We booked the Bounceback for October 10/2-8/2009. When do you think you two will go?!?!? :yay:

Well, SHE will probably still be there on the 2nd! LOL I can probably escape 9/25 but would have to leave by the 30th :(
She really thought the opening weekend was better due to the crowds in later October, and Columbus Day weekend has reports really crowded as well.
Now I really find it amazing how we all were there at the same time last month!!! AND didnt plan it! lol

It was pretty amazing. Whereas Laura thought the opening weekend was better, Bob and I found it lacking this year so we opted to go the second week. We will miss the Mass Free Dining Offer (I think) but still got the Bounceback room discount + free dining for the later week they were offering it.

It makes me very sad that you will be gone by the time we arrive, though ... :(

I think Laura would agree with you about the first weekend "lacking"...she had said there werent as many things going on as years before, (I was the newbie:) )
Mostly I think she was referring to the crowds.
Who knows what next year will bring..especially since we have nothing booked yet! lol Would love to see you guys again! :) And have dinner this time! Poor Bob....no escaping the Dis Folk!

I'm going for my first "World during the holidays" trip.
Nov. 28 thru Dec 3rd. Can't wait to experience the Christmas magic.:santa:

I've read some about the sleigh rides. I've seen recommendations to do the Fort Wilderness one. What's your opinion/tips about the sleigh ride. Any tips about the holidays at all.
Thanks:)

We have never personally done one of the sleigh rides, but I have heard nothing but great things about those at Ft. Wilderness from friends who have taken them. IF you are thinking of doing one (or anything else holiday-inspired) I suggest you book it soon because these things sell out quickly!

As far a tips for the holidays... please know that you are going at a good time and crowds should be relatively light. You will get to experience the decorations and holiday spirit of the parks and resorts without the throngs to deal with, hopefully.

I would take the time to go to Epcot and see the Holidays Around the World that each country in World Showcase presents. These are some of our favorite things to do year after year.

There is a Yuletide Fantasy Tour that can be done with the entire family that is not too pricey if you are interested in one of the extra-cost, behind-the-scenes types of events.

The resorts are all decorated to the hilt and I would spend part of the time visiting as many as I could fit in if this were my first trip again!

Keep asking! I will remember things from previous years if you jog my memory! ;)

And, thanks for reading. :goodvibes

Today I booked a towncar service for our younger DD to get from our home to Dulles airport on Christmas Eve. No worry about her getting there in a tizzy because of traffic and being dropped off right at the departure gate will be a lot nicer than hunting for a parking place or asking a friend to make that nasty drive. ;)

One more thing checked off my "Christmas" list! :teeth:

I'm so glad that everything is coming together for your trip. :goodvibes

My daughter princess: just informed me that she will be on-duty on Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Her DH will be having Thanksgiving dinner with his family and will have leftovers waiting for her. I decided that we will have Christmas dinner when she has a day off. I'm just such a good mother. :lmao:

Yes, you are! It makes it tough when you can't spend the holiday itself with your loved ones. I am sure you will make it a WONDERFUL Christmas Dinner when you can be with them both. :goodvibes

I'm in Elin! I loved your F&W report can't wait to see how this one unfolds! I'm also a big Bing fan, I have that CD. Here is some :wizard: for DD and her job situation. I can't wait to hear about the GF Tea, DD and I did the My Disney Girl Tea two weeks ago...fast forward 20 years and we would be in your shoes at the adult tea. :goodvibes

For "MorgTroy" we did the sleigh ride out of the Wilderness Lodge on 12/2/2005, our 10th anniversary :lovestruc it was nice, my one comment would be to book an early time slot, we had something like 6:00, but my understanding is once it gets dark there is not to much to see. HTH

And I have uploaded all my old favorite Christmas albums (Bing and Ray Coniff and Percy Faith) to my iPod and have been listening to them in secret for a week or so. ;)

Thanks for reading along! :)

Seven weeks from today Bob and I will be at WDW! In fact, we will be in the middle of our Epcot Segway training! :yay:

Seven weeks go by so quick this time of year!

I loved the tea photos! I had a sudden urge to have a cup of tea and do the pinkey thing! LOL It looks like a wonderful experience! Wonder if DD11 would enjoy that for her bday trip?! Hmm, will have to do more research! lol
We do have 1900 Park Fare booked for dinner, love the GF!
Elin, GF was my children's first resort stay ever! Boy, were they spoiled! My DS, 9 at the time, said.."No offense mom, this place is too fancy"....by the time we left, 9 days later (this was our familymoon) he asked if we could move and LIVE at the GF!!

Sorry OT!!!

All the ladies look so lovely!!

Diana - I think your DD11 would love to get dressed up and go to tea with you for her birthday! My DDs both did when we did the same.

We have stayed at GF only once. It was my Christmas surprise to my family a number of years ago. They had always wanted to stay there, but it was not to our liking for some reason. We have never pinpointed what it was that we did not like, but I know I don't have to worry about spending money for a room there any time in the near future. ;)

I think it is delightful that you all took your kids on the honeymoon with you. :goodvibes

Elin, you have a great looking family!

I can't wait to hear how your Segway experience turns out. :cool1: I would love to try the Segway, but with two knee replacements and one hip replacement, I'm afraid to try it. :scared:

Thanks, Kathy!

I would call WDW-TOUR and ask them questions if I were you. Who knows, maybe the Segway tour would be prefect for someone with bionic joints! :thumbsup2
