I'm Done!!! Too Many Changes We Don't Like

Except when you can't get your resort room door to open and have to wait an hour for a CM to come and let you in. Or when one of the bands of one member of your party won't scan at the gates and you spend 45 minutes at guest services to fix the "glitch." Or when that same band won't accept a scan on that same band and you are back at guest services for another hour. So, yes, other than that, it won't affect your trip adversely in any way. I mean, really, who doesn't love to waste fun park time in line at guest relations. And there isn't anything more fun than waiting an hour outside your resort room with sleepy little children for a CM to open your door. Good times, truly magical!

See above.. you don't have to use the bands at all...

Except when the KTTW card nor your Magic Band will open your resort room door and you have to wait an hour for someone to let you and your tired little children in the room.

Hate to break it to ya.. But KTTW cards not working pre existed MB...

Well, Mr. Smarty Pants, my husbands KTTW card nor Magic Band would scan at that gates or in the Fastpass Machines or at the Faatpass+ reader at the attractions. He spent 2 hours at guest services trying to get the issue fixed and then when we got to the room that night we couldn't get in our room with Magic Bands or KTTW cards. It's absolutely ridiculous for you to say this new system test won't affect anyone's vacations.
our kttw glitched over a dozen times last trip. So it isn't just an issue of the MB. Perhaps that us "mr smart pants" point...

I'm not going to entertain the derogatory statements directed towards me..

noahdove, You can at this point in time opt out of the MB's and use KTTW as you've done in the past and since you hardly use FP, you will not see a significant clutch by not using them..

I hope you know I was teasing:)

Another overreaction thread.

Experience it first. If you already experienced it and didn't like it, so much so that you don't want to go back, then sorry for my insinuation, and "Bye".

My wife and I have never used fastpasses much at all, and this simple change is far from enough to ruin our trip.

We enjoy more than just the rides. We can go to Busch Gardens or King's Dominion, both a couple hours away, for rides. We drive 10 hours for Disney.

If rides are the most important thing to you, and longer lines is enough to deter you from Disney, I suggest you give Six Flags or a local amusement park a try. You'll save money, and get what's most important to you.

Why not create a new domain where the Terms of Service indicate one should not post complaints?

Most people complaining they will not return to Disney are long time visitors, not "people who have no intentions of going there." As such, their opinions are valid and helpful to people like me.

I have a feeling that those that are long time visitors that say they are not coming back........are coming back. That is the point of hanging out and posting at a Disney forum insisting you won't return....because you are venting and you know damn well you will return.

I believe Disney is and has been changing the clientele they are after for sometime now.

To us, the parks represent maybe 1/3 of what we are after at WDW. The other 2/3s can be mostly spread out to trying out all the resorts and all the dining options. When we go, we stay in a large villa (2 bedroom DVC) with only 4 people because this is our vacation. Staying in a small All Star hotel with 4 people for a week sounds miserable to us and sure, if that was the case, I would be at rope drop every morning so I wouldn't feel all closed up in a small hotel room.

Many on these boards hate to hear when a new DVC is being built. I love to read about that because that is one more cool place to try out.

So like you say, if it is all about the rides, Six Flags should do. If you insist on staying off site and hanging out at the parks from dawn to dusk, I can see how some of the newer changes would not bode over well.

If that fits some of the readers here, then I would suggest to you that maybe your angst has to do with you not fitting the clientele Disney is going after.

I don't think so. I think what makes America great is we don't just settle for less or quit. We expect the best.

Look at the Boston Red Sox. They finished dead last last year and won the World Series this year. Fans could have said "To heck with this crap. Let's root for the Yankees." But the fans are passionate, just as we are about Disney. We don't give up. We just don't sit by when things are crappy and smile and say "It's OK guys - Get 'em next year!"

The Red Sox didn't choose to finish last though. They were trying and the fans supported them because they were trying. MM+ and FP+ didn't just fall into WDW's lap, they chose to develop it and they choose to implement it.

If your favourite team made an announcement that they've decided to try for the worst team ever record this year and they're not going to even try to win games would you still support them? Would you still buy tickets to the game?

FWIW, the OCD planner in me loves FP+ and ADRs but for those who don't plan or tour the way I do choosing to vote with their wallets and go elsewhere is a great solution. We can complain all we want but if the complainers are still giving Disney their money then they have no reason to change.

Well then why don't you leave this thread and let all the other people who DO/DID use FP whine about it? :)

you sound just like our pres circa 2010 about you can keep your health care plan.

Possibly the biggest paradox about FP+ is that uber-planners really like the concept of being able to reserve ride times in advance. But almost to a person, there is tremendous dissatisfaction with the limitations that the accompanying policies are imposing. Those limitations counteract and far outweigh the benefit of being able to pre-book.

I also think it's interesting that the vast majority of people posting that they love FP+ also state "but I never used FP much anyway." Coincidence? I think not.

Just to throw out there that the sky isn't falling, and that Disney can be easily navigated without FPs.

Rumor has it, some rides even have these things called "queue lines".

But a bus driver told me that, so take it for what it's worth.
