My DD was diagnosed with a swollen lymph node a couple months ago.
She was on antibiotics and the swelling came down. She went back three weeks later and it was looking better. She went in today, and it has not changed. She has been referred to a surgeon. Yes, I am going with her. She is only 19 and scared to death. I can't blame her. I am not going into the crying jag in front of her, just trying to hold it together until her appt next week.

Then the kitten I rescued about 5 weeks ago has Feline Leukemia.
AAAHHH!!!! I am ready to lose my mind! We have 6 cats in the house, they are all vacc. for it, but can still develop it if they are continually exposed.
My sister is suppose to take the cat, but if the kitten is sick, I don't really want to put that on my sister. She is thinking it over tonight, and will let me know if she wants the kitten euthanized tomorrow.

Okay....I think I will go cry now.

Well--little kitten was euthanized. very hard day for us last week.

My DD went to the surgeon today and he said he did not like the way the lump felt. He mentioned it could be caused by many things like Non-Hodgkins...that is when my mind left my head. I have no idea what else he said.

If you all could send some PD and prayer our way, we would sure appreciate it.

LIsa

Thanks for reading and putting up with me tonight!

I'm sorry for all that you are going through. Please feel free to vent here all you want. You and your daughter (and your kitty) are in my family's thoughts.

Thanks....I know in the bigger scheme of things..this is small. It's just why all at once? I'm sure that's what the people of New Orleans are saying, too.

your daughter is gonna be fine, :) and your a good kitty mom

:grouphug:

I have a 19 year old DD also. And sometimes she just needs her mother. Good luck with the doctor. And I am sorry about your kitten.

H hope things work out all around.

I have a 21 yo daughter and life can really be tough for her sometimes. It's good you are there for your daugher. My DD went thru one medical issue after another this summer, but things are starting to turn around.

herc.

Don't feel bad for being worried--that's just what moms do. Whether you're dealing with a child with chronic ear infections or something catastrophic, the pain is the same when it's yours. I hope the visit to the surgeon goes well and they can allay your fears. :grouphug:

:grouphug: Keep us posted, your poor daughter, she must be scared but thank goodness she has her mom for support :grouphug:

Hang in there, and know that things will get better! Sorry to hear about the kitty, and your DD's swollen lymph node. The important thing is that you're getting the medical attention needed! :flower:

My DS had a swollen lymph node for a long time to and finally went to a surgeon (this was quite some time ago). They removed it and it turned out he had cat scratch fever! It really is a disorder and not just a song! LOL
I had kitties at the time and they all had their shots, but its something to do with bacteria so it can happen with every kitty. It was just some wierd thing. It was nothing serious in the long run.
Good luck to her and your kitties!

Just wanted to give you a hug :grouphug:

I hope everything turns out ok with your daughter. Just a side note--I also had a swollen lymph node when I was her age and they were very concerned because my sister had Hodgkin's disease at the same time. They did a biopsy and it turned out that it was an infection that was resistent to antibiotics. I hope that your daughter's problem turns out to be just as minor. :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for your support and for sharing what you have been through.
It really helps to see that there are many reasons for swollen lymph nodes.

It has helped put my mind at ease, at least till Monday.

Never thought of Cat scratch fever! We do have 6 cats, hopefully it is something like that!

Thanks again.
Lisa
