I'm curious about the cancellation stats

I would love to know what % of people have canceled for each booking, just out of pure curiosity. I've seen people reporting they are canceling their cruises planned anywhere between now and the end of 2020.

I would be curious to see as well.

I looked at our previously scheduled cruise (3/27/20 sail date) the other day and found 249 empty staterooms with availability in just about every category. I suspect there were more vacancies because several areas of the ship suspiciously showed exactly 8 empty staterooms in clusters on one side of the ship ... suggesting that some staterooms were being held back like is often the case if you try to book online opening day, etc. There were not a whole lot of “one room here and there” vacancies that you would expect to see for a spring break cruise so close to the actual day.

I was supposed to sail this Month - March 25th on the Wonder but I rescheduled it to sometime in November of this year. Hopefully everything that's currently going on is somewhat resolved.....otherwise I will probably re-book again.

Does anyone know if there is a limit on rescheduling cruises??

I believe you can change the cruise date as often as you wish. To use the credit, you have to reschedule for cruise departing within 12 months from the original departure date. Unless things progress and the cancellation policy gets adjusted again.

Enjoy your cruise!

Wow, that's a lot. Where did you see there are 249 empty rooms?

I counted them.

I did a search for staterooms for a family of 4 and scrolled through every single room option presented and tallied them at the end.

There might have been more rooms if the Dream has rooms that only sleep 3 - but I didn’t even think to check that until I was almost done.

We are looking at sailing on the Dream from Port Canaveral on 4/13 and there is A LOT of availability yet. We are on the fence about going but if they dropped prices we'd consider it. And remember, that's still Spring Break!

Not that this is an indication for certain, but we've been looking at the 3 Day Bahamian on the Magic leaving 4/10, and I had counted all the open rooms last Friday - 93 total, one of which was a Deluxe Suite on the back of the Ship. Just 20 minutes ago, I did another count since so so much has happened since - up to 124, and the suite got booked in that time, but one of the Deluxe Family Verandah's became available.

I'm more surprised they haven't reduced rates in an effort to fill them back up, but I guess they would rather let them go unbooked if that means a few less people on board. We're still of the mind that we're gonna book that cruise, but I'm not completely confident that it will actually sail - if the numbers keep going up and up, I could see the gov't forcing some kind of travel ban and stopping all cruises for a month or two.

I read somewhere there is going to be a travel ban for anyone above 70 years young? Can anyone confirm if this applies to Disney as well?

News reports indicate it was proposed by the Cruise Line Industry Association to the White House. I assume we are going to hear more about this in the next 24 hours. Stay tuned.

I suspect concern that if the cruises get shut down, that's more bookings to rearrange, refund or have to be nice to.

I can only offer up my own choice as anecdata, but I haven't cancelled mine yet because I think that the choice might be made for me by Disney before October, and I also don't want to tie up the lines for people who are nearer to their sail dates and need to speak to a CM. I imagine the March/April/May cruises have the most cancellations while people who are further from their PIF date may be taking the same approach that I am.

Right...just a proposal at this time. This thing gets more intense by the day. I agree we should hear something soon. POTUS is speaking at 9 tonight.

Someone on my cruise (3/23 Magic) was told by their TA that it's 55% full. I think it will go lower, because I'm sure there are some (like myself) who are planning to cancel but playing chicken with DCL to see if they cancel first.

I’m going to cancel my 5/25 cruise but am playing chicken too! Will wait to cancel until a few days before I go from lose your deposit to lose 50%. The credit is of no use to me so sadly I am most likely going to be losing my $1500 deposit 😢

I can report that we've cancelled our cruise next month. Now, it was a river cruise in Europe, but we've cancelled, nontheless.

Ours is the Transatlantic in May, haven't pulled the trigger to cancel just yet, but each day seems more likely that will we have to.

I wish I could move my ABD Danube River Cruise. So far ABD has not relaxed their cancellation policies like DCL and most of the other competitors.

We cancelled our March 2020 sailing last week and rebooked a March 2021 sailing.
