I know Im nuts with everything that's been going on, A&E, FP+, SDMT.
But through it all, I keep hearing a small voice in the back of my head (maybe it's my DD)....
"Hey Jim , you just worked 11 straight months without a vacation, and you're taking your DD18 on your last Daddy Daughter extravaganza...what are you gonna do now?"
Well haters, IM GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!
:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Not crazy!! I'm going in a couple weeks... 25th trip and I get just as excited with each one :) have a wonderful time!!! I remember my last real trip with my son and now he works for Disney lol

You should be happy you're going. If you're not happy about it, why would you go?

Im wicked happy.....but looking around the last few months seems im one of the few :rotfl2:

Have a great trip I was just there last week and I was one HAPPY lady both before and during the trip:dance3:

You're not crazy - I don't care how much people are frustrated with all the changes, IMHO its still crazy to NOT be happy to be going to WDW! Have a magical trip. :)

~I hope everyone has the most fabulous vacation ever at Disney World -- I know I will! :yay:

I just got back from a trip with my DD and DGD two weeks ago-- and I leave Tuesday for another 6 days with my DH. It's our first "adult only" trip in over 18 months, after a series of trips with various kids and grandkids. And I seriously can't WAIT!

No hate from me-heck I'm not even a little mad about it ;)

I hope you go and have a wonderful trip --enjoy making those memories :thumbsup2

This time next week my family will be there and I'm not afraid to say that we are going to be having a great time :cool1:

DH and I are headed to WDW for an adults only trip to celebrate out anniversary! Sooooo excited despite all the 'problems' out there! :rotfl2:

I'm going to Orlando for the first time, my childhood's dream will come true, I'm so happy! No changes will make this bad.

I'll be there in 20 days and it cant come quick enough. I've never been at such a hot time of year, haven't been on a public holiday since my first visit to the Magic Kingdom fell on Thanksgiving. I knew little about WDW / FP back then and still had a wonderful time and fell in love with my happy place. I know I'm going to have an amazing trip this time too. Its just pixiedust:

wishing you and your daughter a wonderful trip

I can't think of anywhere more fun to go with your 18 year old. DH doesn't like Disney, but this last October when DS 18 had a long weekend off, we did a mom / son mini trip -- what a blast. Our main Family vacation will be something we all like, but lol we had so much fun in October, that after DS's college finals (He gets out before the heavy Christmas), we're doing another mini budget trip. My mom and dad are going to come too, so we'll get a condo and maybe my 28 year old nephew who is in grad school. My 19 year old nephew wants to become a Florida college resident to go to college there for in state prices, so is currently working at WDW.

Honestly -- Talking an 18 year old if they love the place is even more fun than taking them when they were little IMHO.

That's awesome. Have a fabulous trip!

(I'm taking my soon-to-be 5 year old later this year... and hoping that at 18, he still enjoys it enough to keep going back!) :)

We just got back (earlier today actually) and we too were a little weary about our trip...based on some of the negative reviews, thots, etc we had been reading about. I posted right before we left how we were very excited and had decided that maybe a great deal of our happiness on our trip was up to us.
Guess what....we had a FABULOUS trip!! It wasn't perfect (nothing ever is), but it was awesome! I will post a more detailed report later, but here are a few highlights intended to hopefully reassure to those heading to WDW soon that the magic is defn still there....
CMs were nice and friendly, only a couple rides were down (and we were able to ride those later in the day without much issue or deviation from our plans), walked right into Be Our Guest (at 11am even!!!!), stayed offsite (WBC & LOVED it) and never felt like we lost the magic, food quality and service onsite was great (WAY WAY better than what we got offsite when we did eat offsite), and I could go on. Again, our trip was not perfect and without issues here and there (we were there for 7 days with 5 people -- 2 adults and 3 teens....of course there were issues), but overall things were awesome. We were there week after Easter and eventhough it was busy, it is unbelievable what were able to accomplish with a little planning and willingness to rope drop.

So, the OP...I say rock on man!!! You go ahead with your great attitude and expectations of having a great time...because you will!! We just drove 9 hrs home today and when we were about 1 hr from home one of my daughters said, "hey, lets turn around and go back!" If I had the time to take off work and the $ to do it...I would have. I would go back tomorrow. So, it must be too bad at The World just yet!

Have a great trip!!

Go and have fun!!! I am going in October, and the weeks just cant speed by fast enough for me. Some people look at me like I have two heads when I tell them that I am going to WDW (AGAIN), but I just smile to myself. If they dont understand it, well, I feel sorry for them!:cool1:

You are not alone, I'm so happy and excited about our upcoming trip. My children are going and they're adults and were all happy about going.

You're not nuts, and you're not alone in your excitement! We are headed down next month for a mother daughter trip. We are celebrating her graduation from high school and her 18th birthday, and nothing is going to quell our excitement and fun - not crowds, heat, FP+, or anything else! Have a wonderful time!

No hating here...I can't wait to go in August for my occasional mother/daughter trip (I'm the daughter!!)!! Enjoy your time and have a couple drinks! :thumbsup2
