DH says he's going to Austin City Limits with some buddies. DD will be at school. What should I be doing????? (Oh the several thousand things I put of all the time....clean out the basement? organize the family photos? clean the carpets? nooooooooo! I'm going to WDW. And I'm going by myself. And I considered asking a friend, but I just feeling like soaking it in a little by myself.

I'm relying on some of you guys telling me this isn't insane/greedy/stupid whatever! Any encouragement for this reckless spending of money and time would be appreciated. Thank you.

Solo trips are wonderful because they are all about YOU!!! You ride, tour, eat sleep when you want - if you want to ride ToT 10x in a row, then go for it!!!

Have a great trip!!! :cool1:

Oh, you are lucky! My DH is not so much of a fan. He goes once in awhile to placate us, but he can take it or leave it (:sad2: I know, I know, it's sad. I think his mom dropped him on his head when he was a baby.)

Anyway, we're not the kind of couple that has to do everything together, so I'm lucky he doesn't care if DD and I go.

Yes, you are right, I would be a very bad wife if I invited other men with me to WDW!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Go for it, auntpolly! What fun! That nasty ol' basement can be cleaned later! :cool1:

Just last week I was thinking about packing a small bag and escaping to WDW! However, I put pen to paper and realized that I have less than 3 months to go for my September trip, so I should save my money instead. :confused3

But I sure did think about escaping! :teeth:

Definitely go for it and gave a great time! I took my first ever solo trip in May and absolutely loved it. This from someone who has never gone anywhere alone. I had never even eaten in a restaraunt alone. My family didn't believe I would do it. As the departure day approached and I didnt change my mind, both my sons went into a panic and said they couldn't believe I'd travel that far alone. Those ten nights passed so fast I couldn't believe it and can't wait to plan my next solo trip.

I'm taking my younger son and D-I-L in September and am looking for ways to spend some time alone. I've told them I have no problem with them spending romantic time alone and am perfectly all right on my own. My D-I-L isn't buying it and says this trip will give us a chance to spend some quality bonding time together. Ooh! I love her, but still plan to find a way to sneak away from them and play on my own. Why can't people get the idea that spending time alone doing what you want to do and not having to worry about anyone else and if they're having a good time is liberating. I was thinking just last night that I may book a couple's massage for them and then just conveniently forget my cell phone in the room that morning, so I could have a full day to myself. I took my elder son and GD down there in January and tried to tell my son that if he wanted to go off by himself that I would watch my 8 y/o GD. He gave me an incredulous look and said 'Why would I want to do that?' I then offered to go off by myself to give him and my GD some quality time together and got the same look. Neither of my sons can seem to ge the concept that alone time is necessary, fun, and healthy.

Anyway have a great time. Anyhing you leave undone at home will still be there when you get back.

Going Solo is great! I booked 10 days in September and I've been this year in April for 7 days and just got back from my first SOLO week in May. If you are having any doubts or questions about SOLO, consider reading my trip report I'm working on. The link is in my sig. HAVE FUN OUT THERE!!!
