I'm confused!

Our letter of our agreement came out and it said :

Ceremony 2:30-3:30
Reception 3:30-5:30

I asked for the reception to start at 5pm because we wanted to extend the Disney photography by an hour. Our sales consultant said the reception couldn't be pushed back as they need to happen consecutively but we could still have extra photos!

Has anyone had an escape reception not start straight after the ceremony?

We had a 2:30 pm ceremony and our reception dinner didn't start until 5:30 pm. We had the cake cutting right after the ceremony until about 4 (we were running behind) then a cocktail hour until dinner at 5:30 pm while my husband and I took pictures. We didn't schedule our dinner through our planner though, so maybe that's the difference. We did it ourselves through Citricos and its managers.
