Here is mrsworry2b lol

Vin and I are calling tonight but we dont know what to day:confused3
Do we say "We want to book and have a planning session while we are there in July?"

Or, do we say "Hi, what do we do?"
lolol:rotfl:

That's pretty much what I did. And anytime I'm unsure of what happens next I e-mail my wedding planner and say, so tell me what happens next. How exciting you are going to officially start!!

I called and said I want to book a custom wedding. Then the woman took all my details like the date, locations, etc. Then a wedding sales coordinator contacted me within 3 days to verify that the date and locations were available. They are very nice (as most disney employees are) and very helpful. They will guide you in the right direction.

YAYY for weddings!!!

From what I've learned through the DIS and the DFTW website, you have to call and let them know what you are interested in having. Then, no more than 3 days later, a sales consultant will contact you and get more details about what you and your fiance are interested in, your budget, timing, flexibility. Depending on when you want you wedding, they'll either let you know what's available (if it's after the one year mark) or whether you'll need to go into lottery (like me) for that particular weekend/time frame.

Once your contract is signed (at the 12 month mark if you're having it in a park or 8 months otherwise), you'll be assigned a wedding planner. Since pricing isn't confirmed on anything until the 6 month mark, you'll be able to have your planning session within 4-6 months of your wedding date.

HTH!!! :thumbsup2

I called and told them what I was considering and then she took my info and said a wedding planner would get back to me within 3 days. No one got back to me so I just called again and told them I hadn't heard from anyone and then they connected me. Don't ask a million questions to the first person you speak with. He/she can't tell you a lot of details like the wedding planners can. If you'll be here in July I'd request a meeting w/them at Franck's. This way you can tour some of the venues and stuff too (when df and I met with a wedding planner he showed us The Living Seas room).

Oh yeah! Thanks PixyDusted for mentioning that! Mrsdisneyb2b, you can go for a site visit when you're there in July to look at up to three locations (I believe) if you'd like.

That's what we're doing when we're there for our vacation this June to see locations for June 2009.

The consultant I was paired with also said site visits also help you to pull colors from the location to use in your wedding colors. Ex: If you want blue for a sea-themed, it can help you noticed which shades and hues of blue are used in the room. :)

Were aiming for June 2009 too!!! We want the anniversary of my grandparents getting married because, my grandfather passed (he raised me) and I want it to be symbolic :)

Thanks a bunch girlies!!!

Another June 2009 bride (hopefully we'll get the date) here!

Congrats on your engagement. I called a month or so ago and they sent me some information via e-mail. The first time I called, I just asked for any info and what I should be doing.

I am not calling until the end of this month or even in June. I'm a teacher and I HAVE to have the wedding in late June or early July!! Frazzled!

Aww, that's so sweet! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to get that date... I know what you mean about wanting a particular date, although mine doesn't have such sentimental value as yours, it's definitely nerve racking. Hopefully, we'll both be able to have good news!
