Hi,

Just curious which building you had your 1 bedroom and also which view did you have? We are going with 2 children ages 4 & 5 and Im thinking it would be best to stay near the zero entry pool.

It is always hard to tell from resort maps for distance, do you know approx walking times from various points on the Saratoga property?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated

My DH and I stayed in the building that is directly in front of the quiet pool. We had the best of both worlds. The quiet pool was a 1 min. walk with a great view of DD at night. On the other hand, the HRS pool (main pool) was about a five minute walk....for two adults. With two little ones I'd plan for a few extra minutes. We spent quality time in both pools. I'm sure that kids enjoy the HRS pool a bit more, with the slide and all. Altough, there's also a playground right by the quiet pool. Best bet, see what's available when you check in. Good Luck!

We were in Congress Park, on the first floor and our view was of Downtown Disney, specifically Fulton's Crabhouse. The quiet pool was about a five-minute walk and was very nice. The pool area faces Downtown Disney.

None of the rooms are right at the main pool, but all the Congress Park buildings are just a short walk (5-7 misn depending on which building you are in). Building 1 is closest.

Check-in, Artist Palette, the arcade, spa, and gym are all near the main pool.

In all Honesty I thought that everything except the quiet pool, was a walk to get to. I have 2 little ones myself and I don't think I would stay there again. I went with DH for our anniversary.

You have to walk right by a road that's pretty well traveled to get to the main pool. Or you could wait for a bus and hop on that which dumps you out right at the pool. If you kids are older or maybe you just stroller them then ok. But the walk to the pool isn't an easy one. IMHO.

Plus just incase anyone cares the only place to get food at the resort right now is artists pallett. Not that big of a selection, but good.

We were in a 2 bedroom lockoff in the last buiding in Congress Park (the one closest to Downtown Disney). There aren't any buildings open yet that are close to the main pool, High Rock Springs. It's a 5 -10 minute walk from the farthest building to HRS pool, but only 5 minutes to DD. Our view was of DD, across from Fulton's Crabhouse. The quiet pool was a couple of minutes from our building. I think, basically, you have a choice of 1 of 4 buildings in the Congress Park area. Those are all going to be near the quiet pool and have access to the walkway (behind the buildings, by the lake) to DD. These buildings also offer the best views for DD. We traveled with a 6 and 3 year old (and 5 month old) and used the stroller for the baby. The other 2 kids could make the trip walking. There is a bus stop in front of the Congress Park buildings. The bus will stop again at the "main entrance" which is the HRS pool and Artist Palette area. We found the walk to be much faster than taking the bus. You can also pick up life jackets, no charge, at the HRS pool area. We used a stroller for the baby when we walked to DD also. There's a playground near the quiet pool although we never used it during our visit.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

As others have said, for the buildings that are now open, it makes little difference in terms of distance to the main pool. However, I disagree that these buildings are prohibitively far from the main pool. While they are not right outside the door, the walk is actually under 10 minutes. That might seem long to some, but it didn't bother me in the least bit. I think it would be nice if they had a bridge connecting Congress Park to the High Rock Springs pool area, but the walk is really quite pleasant.

Additionally, the quiet pool is very close--it was literally outside our porch--just a 1 minute stroll, and it's a beautiful pool, great view of Downtown Disney, picnic area, and nice little playground with a small rock wall on the side for little climbers.

I think you'll have a lot of fun at either pool.

Just at SSR last weekend and stayed in the building where the new DVC model is located. Had a great view of DD and it was a short walk to the pool. All the buildings are not open yet.

I don't recall any rooms being located directly in the pool area. The Artist Palate, Spa, Registration, and pool are located in the same area.

Enjoy your vacation!

Come to think of it, when we stayed there way back in May, the CM who checked us in said that they were hoping that such a bridge would be built. Guess it's a low priority; it would be nice, though....
