I'm Being Eaten Alive By Mosquitos!

I've now lived in Florida for two months. For some reason this week, I've been attacked by hoards of mosquitos. I have at least 12 bites on my legs at this moment. My sister and DD have no bites. We usually take a walk in the early evening. As we walk, I am continuously bothered by little bugs buzzing around my ears. My sister and DD have no problem. I know that I am a sweet person, but this is ridiculous! Either the mosquitos population is partiularly active at the moment or I have just become a really tasty morsel!

We have lots of mosquitos here and if you look at my poor daughters leg, she has been scratching and my have scars from them. Do you use any type of mosquito repellient? Such as OFF? You could also use citronella coils and candles so the mosquitos don't come around as much. I know-they're a pain.

If you eat alot of bananas they will come after you. At my son's baseball game last month I was told if you take a Bounce dryer sheet and rub it on your clothes and exposed body parts that they will leave you alone. Don't know if it works but the lady that told me said she hadn't been bitten yet! They seem to like my son currently too! I think I'm going to try the Bounce thing!

I have used the AVON Expedition repellant and found it to work well. It is DEET free but seems to work for us.

WELCOME to Florida!!!! They go for me, too and none of the suggestions already made here have worked for me. Do give them a try.....maybe you'll get lucky.

By the way, I posted on another thread that you may have missed, how truly outstanding your daughter is!

I'm in South Florida and they are bad here also. We have been vigillant about standing water with the rain but to no avail. The little buggers like me too and it scares me because they have had two cases of West Nile Virus in Miami. Seems the minute you go out at dusk and at dawn especially you get swarmed. I hate chemicals but I really wish they would start the ariel spraying like they used to do.

It's funny that they are drawn to certain people more than others... my dad will get eaten alive while most aren't bitten at all.

Buy some spray and make it part of your daily habit. I bought some OFF that has a nice scent to it, imagine that! It smells tropical, so it's not so bad to wear =)

I feel your pain! I swear that if I was outside with 10,000 other people, I'd be the only one that they'd go after.

It's become my daily ritual to spray myself with Off before I leave the house. I haven't had a bite for weeks now.

We were out fishing a couple weeks ago from the shore at a popular lake. There were SEVERAL other people there. Just after the sun set, I began to notice DOZENS of mosquitoes all over me! THEY LOVE ME!
So, I went to the car while DF fished some more and packed up our gear. As I sat in the car, about ten minutes after I had left, everyone (10+ people) ran toward their cars! RAN, not walked.

I thought, maybe a gator??? Snake??? DF wasn't coming! Finally he got to the car and I asked him what that was all about- He said they were getting eaten alive by the mosquitoes.... millions of them!

DF didn't have a BITE! They don't like him!

I am here in Missouri and we are being eaten alive here too! We have had alot of rain this summer which is very odd for us.

Now I don't feel so bad knowing I'm not the only one they love! I guess I'd have been in trouble if I'd stayed in Missouri as well. I will try the suggestions offered or stay indoors until they deminish!

Skin So Soft by Avon works well to keep the mosquitos off.
Also I found that mosquitos like me less when my blood sugars are under control. If I am high I will get eaten alive.
