Hi, everyone. I'm home and I'm pooped. I think this was more exhausting than WDW! We ended up spending two full days at the Toy Fair. My feet are killing me. It didn't occur to me to wear good walking shoes. Duh! So we only had this morning to do any exploring. We went to the Disney Store and FAO Schwartz. We also took a buggy ride through Central Park-we've never done that before. We went for lunch at the Stage Deli and then headed home. We didn't get to Ground Zero. First because we ran out of time. But once we got to the city, my feelings changed. It's on their news all the time. They just found more bodies over the weekend. There was an intense feeling of sadness when I heard that and decided I didn't think I could handle going over there. Bill and Chris weren't crazy about going from the beginning, so I didn't push it anymore. They never brought it up once we got there, so I let it go. It's a very weird feeling to see the skyline so changed. That upset me the minute I saw it. It was almost surreal. I would like to go back when we have some time and we can go without being rushed

Jay, I thought about letting you know-but there was no way I could tell when and where we'd have a chance to meet up. When we come for a personal visit to the city, I'll be sure and let you know! :D

So, what'd I miss? :D

Welcome Home Barb. :) Glad to have you back. :) I'll e-mail you later or tomorrow with DISneyland stuff. :) Not too much new over here. You should be able to catch up quickly. ;)

I forgive you Barb....The Toy Fair is great. I had to work that detail many times...Getting to see and maybe even take home (wink Wink) some of the new toys is cool :)

Barb, I'm glad you're back. :D I bet you are pooped. You have another trip coming up soon. ;) You need to rest up for that.

Welcome back, Barb!! Things have been really quiet around here, so ya didn't miss much.

Welcome back, Barb. I heard about what happened at Ground Zeo, too. That has got to be so emotional and I don't blame you for not asking about it.

I'm glad that you had a successful trip and glad to see you.

It has been slow, like Steve said.

Hi, Steve! My WebTV works great, but the DIS web site must be acting up a little bit. It took me over an hour just to get this post accepted. Something about the server being to busy and to try again. ::eek::

Now back to your regular scheduled program, lol.

Welcome Back Barb!

I know what you mean about the skyline. I was in New York pricing a bond issue in November. I was at the offices of Salomon Smith Barney which is about 3 blocks from the actual site. You could stand on the street and watch the cranes at work and watch the trucks go by. I did make the trek down there - just walked there mid day instead of eating lunch. It was hard to describe the emotions I was feeling at the time. Tremendous sadness and disbelief. I had known this place before the event... and now it was all changed... and tragically, the dust that was being washed from the neighboring building windows... was likely all that remained of many human beings. My time there was small and insignificant, but the sobering experience was not.

Anyway, welcome back. So glad you had a successful trip and are returned to us safe and sound. :)

Hi Barb...glad you all had a good trip. We've all been sick here, first all the girls and now me..I'm actually taking a vacation day from work tomorrow so I can just rest. I don't have to go back until Tuesday. I don't think I could have gone to Ground Zero either. When Rob and Marilyn were here at Christmas Amanda asked Marilyn if she was afraid to fly and her reply was she was more afraid to leave the apartment because of all the extra security still around the area. She finally went down there just before Christmas, but Rob hasn't gone. They unfortunately lost a lot of friends and co-workers so she felt a strong need to go. I'm about 85 % sure I'm doing DIS CON I'm kind of feeling George out on the whole thing now.
