We finally got back this afternoon.
The flight was delayed for 4 hours which really dragged. Ive got the usual post WDW blues (and I think we all know the way to fix that!!) We had an amazing time, the best ever and I cant wait to go back!
Here are a few of our highs and lows:
Highs
The weather - this was fabulous, most days it was in the early 80's and was perfect. I went and bought lots of fleeces, hats and scarfs before we went and they never got worn once!! We wore shorts/t-shirts all day and evening, I think there was one night when I put on a jumper and that was it!
The crowds in the first week or so - these were really good up until Christmas, we went to MK on Christmas eve and there was only a 10 min wait on most things which was much better than I expected.
Pop Century - really liked this hotel, we had a great room (3101) we were in the 50's building right next to Tramp. It was only a 2 min walk to the food courts and the bowling pin pool was literally right outside our door.
Expedition Everest - now I have to be honest and say that I was too chicken to ride this but dh did and it was his favourite ride.
There are loads more but my tired brain cant think of any at the moment!
Lows
The flights - on the way over there were a couple of kids sat behind me who alternated between fighting very loudly and kicking my seat! As you can imagine this got annoying very quickly! After a while I said something along the lines to dh that could he either please ask the kids to stop kicking my chair or I was afraid I would have to reach behind me and throttle them!! The air hostess also forgot about our section of the plane when doing dinner, it was only when she came to collect the trays and saw 4 rows of hungry faces that she realised and went to get us something to eat!
The flight back was delayed for 4 hours which dragged but Ive had worse delays, we were lucky to be flying really as they bumped quite a few people off of the plane at the departure gate! What really sucked though was that the entertainment system was not working in our section of the plane so no seatback tvs. I wasnt too upset by this as I had a good book to read but then quickly realised that the lights were not working either which meant that for 8 hours we sat in the dark with nothing to do! About midway through the flight dh and the woman sat next to him were fast asleep and I was really thirsty and wanted a drink but I couldnt get up becuase of them and I couldnt call for an air hostess as the little call light was not working either, this felt like a very long flight!!
Universal Studios - for the first time ever we went to Universal and I was really disappointed! It just didnt seem to have to same finish or attention to detail that Disney had and the rides seemed a bit outdated. Twister, Back to the Future and MIB were all not working and the queues for the other rides were huge, we realised then how good Fastpass is!
Thats about it, any questions??
